  Title: Charming Studio Barn with Thoughtful Touches Date of Stay: February 16th- 21st 2025 Here are some highlights from my experience: Pros: 1.

  Comfortable Accommodation: The studio layout was well-designed with the bed at one end and the kitchen at the other. It was cozy and welcoming. 2. Thoughtful Amenities: It was lovely to find a pint of milk in the fridge and a couple of pain au chocolate upon arrival. The enclosed area just outside was perfect for my four-legged companion, Poppy and a bonus was the outsize light for her night-time wee! The queen size bed was a real treat. The barn was well equipped with everything you might need (even a hairdryer, and a torch). 3. Friendly Hosts: The hosts, Richard and Jo, were reassuringly close by, (the other side of the fence) and as I was travelling on my own it was good to know that I had neighbours. I appreciated Jo's welcome check-up message on Sunday evening too. Cons: 1. Location Confusion: The postcode initially took me to a property on a different road. I recommend using Stuckton Road in your sat nav or arriving while it's still light to avoid any confusion. 2. Shower Room Temperature: The walk-in shower room was a bit cold initially, but it warmed up nicely after the radiator was switched on. 3. There is a major road close by and you can hear traffic most of the time but it didn't spoil my visit. Overall Experience: My stay at 2 Welford Barns was delightful. It provided a cozy retreat, and the friendly hosts added a reassuring touch. It's close to so many other places: we visited the New Forest, Boscombe, Highcliffe and Wimborne. I would recommend this studio barn to anyone looking for a dog friendly relaxing getaway. Rating: 4.5/5 stars

  This is hard to evaluate as we booked this for dates in May to coincide with a reunion event in nearby Verwood.

  Then came the virus and lockdown, the reunion event was obviously cancelled but this was not an option on this cottage without losing our full payment so we had to change our dates (for which we were charged extra). So a cottage which would have been perfect in May when we didn’t expect to spend much time in it was less comfortable in mid October. That is not a criticism of the cottage which was nice and set in a delightful location but it is a criticism of Sykes and their policy of not allowing a cancellation with a full refund. I’m sure that we had been choosing a cottage for October, we would have chosen something a little bigger and more comfortable. Sadly, we have the same problem with a cottage originally booked for July this year. Because of the extended lockdown in Scotland we had to move this to next July! Again, at extra cost to ourselves. No cancellation was offered. Our emails weren't even answered. We have been loyal customers over a number of years and stayed in a number of cottages but will not be booking a cottage holiday again.

  We have just spent 7 wonderful nights at swallow lodge .

  From the moment we walked in to the time we left it was amazing. There was a welcome hamper for us when we arrived for which we were very grateful. The fit and Finnish and cleanliness is first class.the amount of equipment they have in there leaves you wanting for nothing as they have thought of everything you need for a lovely break .when we met nicky and roger they made us feel very welcome and are lovely people was really nice to meet them .knowing they are just next door should you need anything. Milford is a lovely place and was central for all the places we visited ,we ate out at smugglers and the lazy lion both very good ,a shop, fish and chip shop within a 5 min walk .we would definitely recommend swallow lodge for a nice relaxing break book with confidence its amazing.we have booked many places with Sykes over the years and never had a bad one yet but this one is up there with the best .   I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Little Granary with my dog, and I can honestly say it was the perfect retreat!

  From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at ease in the tranquil and picturesque setting. The view of the pond was absolutely breathtaking, providing a serene backdrop for our getaway. The accommodation itself was cozy, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully designed, offering every comfort we could ask for. The attention to detail made it feel like a true home away from home. My dog loved exploring the nearby surroundings and lounging by the pond while I soaked in the peaceful atmosphere. It’s rare to find a place that combines such beauty, comfort, and pet-friendly hospitality. The Little Granary exceeded all my expectations and provided us with a much-needed escape. I can’t recommend it highly enough for anyone looking to unwind in a stunning rural setting—whether you're traveling solo, as a couple, or with your furry companion. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

  The Little Granary, An absolute gem of a place.

  Deceptively spacious, as photo's don't do the place justice. The owners have thought of everything you would possibly need, home from home, even a bbq. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, this working farm has sheep, cows, horses, chickens, duck pond straight outside the door, also not forgetting their lovely dog trotting by. It is minutes away from the New Forest and also easy access to the south coast. The only thing I would say to the owners is I think the curtains could do with replacing as worn and putty needs replacing in the windows, guessing this maintenance is done over the winter months. These few things would definitely not put me off returning, infact if we do stay in the area again this will be our first choice. The owners are friendly and helpful. We had a fantastic week here and highly recommend.
