  We stay in Mawgan Porth each year and chose the apartment for it's great location.

  We arrived to find it just as advertised, a lovely apartment with everything you need and spotlessly clean. Our only gripe was the ensuite was unusable due to a broken toilet seat which couldn't be sat on and a basin that had the plug fast stuck shut. Surely the cleaners would have noticed this and should have asked maintenance to fix. Also the door from the lounge to the hallway doesn't close properly so it rattles unless you leave it wide open. It would be handier if the terrace had some sort of fence or barrier so that you could sit out with your dogs on the terrace. The rule of no dogs on the grass means you can't really sit on the terrace if you have dogs with you for concern of them stepping out. The entrance to the car park could do with better thought as there's minimal room to sit your car in the road whilst fiddling with a chain to open it. We had a lovely holiday and would certainly come back. Thank you

  "'The Retreat' and it certainly is a treat.

  This was our first time staying at the Retreat and certainly will not be the last. This apartment is modern and very well equipped. The kitchen has all the necessary equipment needed if you are wishing to cook on a regular basis. The lounge area is large with SKY TV and a PS4 which the kids or big kids) love. The dining area can easily fit 6 people and still not be cramped. The bedroom and main bathroom are comfortable and beautifully decorated. Also has a utility cupboard with washer/dryer, beach footballs, beach tent etc and other extras for the beach. Upstairs the bathroom is spacious and the Main bedroom is once again beautifully decorated and spacious. The second bedroom upstairs with two single beds is well equipped with board games and other games for the children. All bedrooms have TV's and lots of wardrobe/draw space. Can't recommend enough.   This property was lovely.

  Spacious, great location and stunning views from the balcony. It was clean and the towels and bedding were really nice. Also perfect that it had a parking space that was accessible. Everywhere in St Ives was just a short walk from here. It was also nice not to be too close to the hustle and bustle. Really comfortable place to stay. We did have an issue with a leak in the upstairs shower, but have to say this was sorted promptly after being reported and I was impressed with the service that we received. (These things after all do happen from time to time). My only niggle - was that the upstairs windows desperately needed cleaning. The main bedroom one opens out into a type of balcony but wasn't pleasant to look at due to how dirty they were (Layers of it). So if you get these cleaned it would really finish it off.

  The Retreat is a lovely apartment and we had a fantastic holiday there.

  Really light, clean and bright and very accurate listing. Location was perfect for us and we loved hanging out at Porthminster beach. The HarSpa membership was very much appreciated too, we used the pool which was great on a rainy day with our 4 year old and I very much enjoyed a couple of discounted treatments! Only feedback would be that none of the tvs work in the bedrooms as no signal so not sure point of them? Also would be good to mention the beach equipment available to use, we definitely wouldn’t have brought all of ours had we known there was lots there to use! Otherwise really well equipped kitchen, beds were blissfully comfy, excellent coffee machine and we had everything we needed for our stay, thank you! Would book again. Thank you.

  Spoiled by rain and the localised flooding that swamped our car, writing it off.

  Number 2 is an ideal location with easy walk to shop and beach However our biggest bug bear was getting to grips with operating the main TV. As non smart TV amateurs, it was easy to accidentally go off live channel by touching the remote. The remote itself is showing signs of wear with buttons having symbols erased so not easy to understand what they are for. As owners of a yorkie we took throws for the sofas, these daily would have white short hairs on them, probably from the scatter cushions. Perhaps they could be hoovered both sides. We were unable to open the patio door, it appeared the external lock may well have been corroded. Aside for these slight problems, we would happily go back, hoping for better weather.
