What our customers say about their holidays
Clare - Verified booking
The house is in a fantastic location and is very spacious with loads of light, which is lovely.
The only thing that lets it down, as some other visitors have also commented on, is the quality of the decor. There are paint splashes on the floors/carpets in pretty much every room, the curtains are very thin and donât fit the windows properly in some rooms, there are gaps in carpet that have been patched with completely different pieces of carpet or mats in the master bedroom, holes in the wall panels in the bathroom and badly hung cabinet doors in the kitchen which prevents some doors from fully closing. There was also a really fusty smell in the living room - I think it came from the blankets and cushions. These are all fairly minor things, but combined, they let the property down as they make it feel a bit cheaply done. When you pay almost £1000 for one week, this is disappointing. Also, there were absolutely no toiletries provided - no hand soap in the bathroom, no washing up liquid in for kitchen and no laundry detergent in the utility room - and no hand towel in the bathroom either. Again minor inconveniences but providing these for visitors would make a huge difference to first impressions and comfort of the stay. Having said all this, the property and garden are large, the facilities were all in good working order, the Wi-Fi was fast and the living area is very comfortable, so the major points are all fine. If the feedback from ourselves and other visitors was taken on board and addressed by the owners and cleaners, then this would make a huge difference and go some way to justifying the price that is being charged.

Very spacious, well equipped but corners cut which was a shame.
There is a splendid cooker, the pans were not usable. Where the non-stick coating had been scraped off they had all rusted. So The only way to cook was with frying pans, baking sheets, or to use the microwave oven. New pans don't cost much! Spotless kitchen. The only bed we used was in need of renewal because it was so old. We loved the privacy and the location, the directions were essential and no parking problems because of an ample private drive. An attempt had been made to put down artificial grass but it was a disaster. I'm sure weed -resistant membrane and wood chippings would look better. On the plus, it was really warm and well-ventilated. The amount of light was wonderful - big windows in every room. The welcome pack was also very kind. Nice front garden (there was a pretty border and mixed shrubs) but a bodged, unfinished structure (seating area?) and collection of overflowing bins didn't give the best first impressions. On the morning of our stay we received a call to say a wardrobe door had come off and it was at the top of the list to be replaced, this reflected how there was care about the interior and the comfort it offered visitors. Strange details let it down (the missing carpet at the side of the bed, two carpet squares being laid down to fill the gap). We had a good stay, we really did but were niggled by the details mentioned.

Having read some of the reviews I was not sure whether or not to book this property but as it was a late booking took a chance and booked dates which were available in September.
The bungalow is very spacious and I really couldn't see why so many negative reviews has been received. There is parking for more than one car, the garden is secure (a must for my dog) and the bungalow is well equipped and had everything we needed. Yes there are a few paint spots on the floor but that did not detract from our holiday. The beach is about half a mile away and dogs are allowed on some parts of it, the parking is free and it was mostly deserted. There is a coffee shop and swings next to the beach. The beds were clean and comfortable and the bedrooms were spacious. The kitchen and bathroom are relatively new and both served their function. There was plenty of hot water and we had no problems with the shower. There are two shops very close to the property so no need to drive to a supermarket. There is also a chip shop and Chinese takeaway just down the road. My only criticism would be that there were no pillow protectors on the beds and there seemed to be a problem with which bin to put out meaning they hadn't been emptied. There are plenty of places to visit nearby so we didn't have to travel far. Compared with other holiday properties it was also very good value as it is a lot cheaper. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay there again

Varley Villa is beautiful.
The photos do not do the property justice. It has the Wow factor and the owners Ross and Trish give it the Wow plus 1. From the moment we arrived we felt at home especially with a welcome hamper including hot home made bread. A beautiful park within 100 metres to walk our dog and the town full of interesting shops, pubs and takeaways. The property is very comfortable, luxurious walk in shower, fully fitted kitchen and a great decking and seating area. Ross and Trish should be extremely proud of the offer and we will remember it for a long time and hope to be back soon. Varley Villa offers great value for money and if you fancy a luxurious property and throw in a friendly town, a park close by with great hosts then this is the place for you. The park offers the opportunity to enjoy the countryside and the cafes close by provide coffee and cakes before heading back to relax. There really is nothing negative to add, the booking is simple and we were provided with all the information we needed to enjoy a great break. Ross and Trish...Thank You

Lawrence and Julie are wonderful hosts who made us feel so at home and like family.
They had thought of every little detail without going overboard and were there for anything we needed. The cabin itself is stunning and the location is breathtaking and we quite frankly canât fault a single thing and didnât want to go home. The bath outside is so fun and very private, they offer the use of their own gardens as well as being clued up on local walks and amenities. What topped it off is that they are aware just how rural they are and provide you with enough quality produce to give you a good breakfast your first morning there and the welcome basket is so thoughtful and such a treat. Lawrence showed us around and handed us some warm, freshly baked bread and then on our second day, we arrived back from a long hike to find a local Bara Brith cake with a candle in it and a birthday card for my husbands birthday! This place is truly magical and Lawrence and Julie are absolute angels. We will be back as many times as we can.
