  We had a great stay in this cottage, its location is peaceful, with a lovely garden, great views and easy access to the fields that lead to the beaches. A really comfortable bed (we only used the master bedroom), an amazing shower (once we got the temperature right!) and a kitchen that had plenty of everything we could possible need, made this a great base for a week away. The house has a slightly quirky layout. We ate in the garden as the weather was glorious, but I wonder if a family would struggle to get around the dining table? We’ve stayed in many properties in Padstow over the past 20 years or so and I would definitely book this property again; perfect for a couple. It’s a bit of a hill climb up and down from the harbour but if you want somewhere a bit more peaceful with easy access to walks and beaches, I don’t think you could do much better. Original Cottages, who we’d not used before, were easy to book with and provided good pre-stay information and communication.

  The booking process was very simple and clearly laid out on the website. All the information we received prior to arriving was useful, concise and very easy to follow. When we arrived and realised we’d forgotten to book a stair gate, one was delivered within an hour which was fab! The property itself was brilliant, great location just a few minutes walk from the harbour, clean (although it could have been a little cleaner) and well appointed. There was lots of useful information in the guest book as well. Our only note would be to perhaps explore putting blackout blinds on the master bedroom windows - the sun shone straight onto the pillows at 5:30am which stopped us having the holiday lay in we’d hoped for - and the water pressure on the shower could have been stronger. Other than those two minor points, everything was lovely.

  We’ve stayed at several properties in the Sarah’s View area through Original Cottages and I’m sorry to say that this one wasn't to our standards. The living room area was absolutely fine and the kitchen adequate, however the microwave and clothes airer needs attention, it was unclear whether the washing machine had a dryer function. Upstairs however there was a musty smell, we found the double mattress uncomfortable, the bedside lighting only worked on one side in the double room, we felt the sheets felt cheap and scratchy like hospital sheets, the shower head leaked and therefore the pressure was low, and the toilet began blocking as soon as we arrived. We were grateful for the rapid fix of the blocked toilet. We won’t be returning to this particular property though.

  Cosy, homely house in a brilliant location in Padstow. Wonderfully close to town but its situation in the little ‘complex’ of houses was quiet and restful. Parking is a bonus (having both an allocated space and unallocated spaces - the allocated space can be tight as we travelled in our Ford Transit van for bikes and boards but unallocated spaces could also be used). The house was just fine for the four of us (2 adults, 2 children + 1 dog) but imagine it might be a bit tight for 4 adults with just a sofa seating 3 etc. But a really good property, nicely furnished and well equipped for a really happy stay. The owners have clearly tried to foresee the needs of their guests. Thank you.

  The furniture (sofa and outdoor table and chairs) were not as as shown on the pictures. Both were very uncomfortable. The wardrobes and drawers upstairs are very difficult to open as they keep sticking. The outside area is neglected, hadn’t been swept or weeded for some time and loads of cobwebs. Inside the property was clean so no complaints about that. Also would be good to have thicker/blackout curtains as the current ones don’t block out any light in the mornings. Kitchen is brilliantly equipped and the crockery/glassware is great. Location is fantastic, just a short walk down into Padstow.
