This delightful, detached, single-storey wooden chalet is quietly located behind the owners’ home and stands overlooking its own paddock with views to the fells. The property is situated between the Solway coast and the Northwest Lake district national, which makes it an ideal location, with easy access for exploring the Lakes. Cockermouth, Keswick and Carlisle are all approximately 25 minutes’ drive away. A little further is Hadrian’s Wall and the Scottish Border. Perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, tourers and those just looking for a relaxing holiday break.
You can easily visit the Southern areas of the Lake District, Windermere, the largest lake in the Lake District can be accessed by the M6, around an hour and a half drive for a beautiful boat ride across that Lake, and the steam train in Hasslethwait via the M6, or take the more scenic route along the coastal road.
Solway Coast is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that stretches north to Carlisle and south to Allonby Bay; perfect for cycling (Hadrian’s Cycleway, Maryport–Allonby route) and walking. Burness-on-Solway is worth a visit to see a stunning sunset, there are milefortlets and the Discovery Centre in Silloth to explore remnants of Hadrian’s Wall and Roman coastal defences. You could take a trip in the car to Gretna Green, Carlisle Castle, or Lowther Castle.
Around 3 miles away is Brayton, which has a Fishery and a Golf course. If you don’t have a car, there is a bus route opposite the property driveway.

Lovely hosts such nice people loved loved loved it daughter fell in love with the cows we saved a upside hedgehog dog hated the sheep his nemesis but he was on their territory so tuff booked for next year ....the one and only moan Is wifi but other than that perfect

Hedgehog Meadows was the perfect holiday let for us as a family of 3 (2 adults, 1 child) and 2 dogs. It has everything you need and was very clean, we loved the old feel to it. The paddock/garden is amazing for the dogs and my daughter practicing her rugby kicks. The shed is full of outdoor games, we toasted marshmallows in the fire pit at night. It’s so private and peaceful you feel like you’re out of the hustle and bustle of everything, the owner Dianne came to say hello and then left us to enjoy our holiday. We normally stay in Keswick in a very busy overlooked location so wasn’t sure we would like being out of it all but it was fantastic and just what we needed. We were only 6mins drive from Lidl and the town centre, 30mins drive from Keswick and all the beautiful mountain walks we like. 50mins drive to St Bees beach and coastal walks, Fleswick Bay there is beautiful. There is a garage 100yrds away that sells all kinds including freshly made bacon & sausage barms, pies etc. You are only 20mins from Carlisle aswell, it literally is a great place to stay and would highly recommend to anyone who wants to get away from it all but within distance to everything Lake District. We will be back 😁
