About this property

This stylish and well-equipped apartment is ideal for the energetic single traveller or couple, with or without a dog! Situated in an elevated position with spectacular sea views and sunsets to be appreciated from the bay window or patio area to the front. Hike through the woods and hills to the rear or stroll down the steep lane into town, to the long, sandy beach.

Seaview Apartment provides studio-style accommodation with a wonderful sea view. In an elevated position above the town of Barmouth, with a panoramic view over the long, sandy beach and Cardigan Bay, the property is convenient for a couple wishing to explore the town below and the mountains immediately to the rear, with footpaths from the door. These stunning sea views come at a price, though! It is a steep climb up the road to the front gate and then a steep flight of steps to reach the patio and the front door. Forming the ground floor of the owners’ impressively tall four-storey Victorian villa, there is a shared front hallway, but the apartment and the owners’ house each have private entrances from the hallway.

Living Accommodation: is open-plan, combining a bed-sitting room with an impressive, art deco styled kitchen diner. Bay window overlooking the sea, leather sofa, Freeview TV, WiFi, feature Victorian cast iron fireplace (non-functional) with slate tiled surround and mirror over, double bed with bedside tables, large drawer unit providing plenty of clothes storage, and an additional hanging rail. The kitchen includes a breakfast bar area with two stools, dividing it from the bed-sitting room. Beautifully fitted, this impressive kitchen is ideal for a keen cook serving up a romantic dinner for two! Electric oven, 5-ring gas hob, microwave, slim dishwasher, fridge with 3* freezer compartment, washing machine. There is also a small dining table and chairs.

Shower Room: with electric shower in curtained enclosure, WC, basin, shaver light and heated towel rail.

Outside: immediately to the front of the apartment, guests have use of the small patio area with bistro table and chairs, small barbecue, from which to enjoy the panoramic sea views and spectacular sunsets.

Parking: unavailable at the property. A parking permit is provided for use in the town's car parks. This is an ideal destination for guests wishing to use public transport: Barmouth’s mainline railway station is less than a quarter of a mile from the property.

Pets: your friendly dog is welcome with you at the apartment. No garden, but plenty of wooded hillside walking close by.

Barmouth is a traditional seaside holiday town, with an excellent range of facilities for eating and drinking, as well as small theatre, leisure centre, range of independent shops, amusement arcades and the long, sandy beach. The town sits at the foot of the rugged hills at the edge of the Snowdonia National Park, with excellent walking and spectacular cliff top views nearby. Barmouth is at the mouth of the river Mawddach, and the estuary is home to several nature reserves, the Barmouth bridge and the Mawddach Trail for more sedate, level walking and cycling. The Mawddach Restaurant, in nearby Dolgellau, is just under 8 miles away. Fairbourne, 2.3 miles away across the estuary, can be reached by ferry and is home to the Fairbourne steam railway. Walkers can also cross the Barmouth Bridge to visit the hills around Arthog and the spectacular Cregennen Lakes. There is certainly plenty to see and do in this wonderful area, even without a car! Drivers, of course, can venture even further afield to Dolgellau, Coed-y-Brenin, and the many beaches of this spectacular stretch of coastline.

Electricity, central heating (off the owners’ system) and WiFi included

Bed linen and towels provided

Due to the very steep access, the property is not suitable for infants, toddlers or children

The woods and waterfalls at Arthog and Ganllwyd are just gorgeous. Also loved climbing all over Yr Eifl in Llŷn, and seeing the Tre'r Cieri hillfort and Trefor granite quarry.
