Just arrived back from a lovely week at the lodge.
Kay the host is very welcoming & on hand if needed. Gorgeous welcome treats from Terrington tea rooms, try the sweet chilli sausage rolls. The lodge is in a perfect location for visiting lots of neighbouring towns, York, the coast, Malton etc. Castle Howard is beautiful and a short drive away. There are several local pubs, Crown and Cushion was a good find with a pizza place opposite. The Lodge was very clean, beautiful views & animals, a lovely swing seat and of course the hot tub which was perfect to relax in at the end of the day. All looked very pretty with the fairy lights at night and is a good place to view stars weather permitting. The only feedback really would be there was no Internet/WiFi and I had zero signal so couldn't research things. Although it did give me a break from my phone

What a wonderful cottage, with a superb location and views!
It was perfect for us and the cottage was super cosy and we loved the traditional decor. It was clean, tidy and well kept. The Welsh Cakes and goody basket with the teas and Coffees was very kind and a nice touch. The farm is lovely and the owner so friendly and kind. If I could wave a magic wand, and it's a personal preference, to have a comfier mattress. I have a bad back and it was quite firm. On removing the sheets for check out, it was evident that perhaps the mattress had better days. The duvet had a small rip in and the comfy sofa was missing a middle leg at the front, so we had quite a shock on standing up as the sofa tipped forward quite drastically! Maybe something to look into? This wouldn't deter us coming back as it was the perfect holiday cottage otherwise and great value as well.

The location is great secluded and quiet. Green scenery was tranquil...looking out onto the fishing lake and far distant farm land. The hot tub was fantastic...well maintained and that is all I did whilst other half did fishing. At lodge and other fishing areas around the locality. The owner Adam was friendly and welcoming...I would come again to this spot and try the other lodges. Definitely would recommend this place for couples for a get away. Very clean well maintained lodges...A very caring g and thoughtful business which does care about its customers the whole experience of arriving parking and entering lodge seamless. The bedrooms, bathroom was well appointed clean and very nicely presented and equipped.
The whole property was clean and tidy, however we were a bit disappointed with the kitchen area which had hardly any space for food storage. The living area let down the rest of the property and looked tired in comparison. There was no dvd or did player as stated. We were pleased there wasn't so bad Internet coverage as expected from the property. The property was warm and dry. The setting was lovely and nice to look out on and outside facilities looked good, but due to the cold spell we didn't use them. We feel if we'd chosen the Spring or summer months we'd have been contend to spend time sitting outside. The actual location was brilliant for the coast, countryside with lots of lovely market towns nearby.

The property was located in a remote location in the country side which was exactly what we were looking for.
You did not have to worry about other people. Owner was quick to respond, friendly and very welcoming. Felt very safe whilst here. I think it is a perfect getaway for couples. Unfortunately it wasnât as warm as I wouldâve liked it to be, but then again we travelled 4 hours from down south so I put it down to acclimatisation. We also did a lot of cooking and the cooking supplies was absolutely sufficient for cooking anything. The hot tub definitely made this stay worthwhile!
