  We stayed at Beren for a long weekend in November 2015 and fell in love with it - we already have a return visit planned later this year! The house is warm and welcoming with a lovely kitchen/diner and 3 good bedrooms. All the furnishings and equipment were to a very high standard and it was spotlessly clean when we arrived - the kids immediately logged on to the Wifi internet while we relaxed in the hot tub! We were also delighted to find that the house not only welcomed dogs and had a fully enclosed private garden, but the owners had also provided thoughtful 'doggy' extras such as rugs and food bowls. The cottage is located right in the centre of Croyde village and has the benefit of off-road parking (not often the case with village period properties as we've found in the past). It is also a stone's throw from a good local pub serving excellent food. A short, scenic walk takes you to Croyde Bay where dogs are allowed on the beach during the off-peak season. We particularly recommend the cliff top walk to Woolacombe with sweeping sea views across Croyde Bay.

  Despite the issue with the washing machine (owner offered to pay for Laundrette) We all had a great time, thanks for providing alternative parking for the works that took place in the car park. As for the apartment is very clean, well equipped, I always bring key things (sharp Global knife, chopping board ice tray & peeler) although this property doesn’t have a view but just take a step outside patio at sunset that’s a enough for me to come back. For me the added side access made a huge difference for me, as steps becoming challenging due to injury last year. We drove to the beachfront £9 per day. My partner & in-laws went for an evening stroll down to the beach when I was using the swimming pool. The pool cover has to be removed manually to use the pool (key to pool door is provided). Top tip read flat instructions as all information is there that you need to know including pool key & WiFi info. If you want a quiet place to stay near a good clean beach & swimming pool this a must place location in North Devon. Thanks for the Rose wine.

  Booked the day before departure for a late deal & the good weather, was not looking to go on holiday until the following week to be nearer easter but due to the best weather being the week earlier, we decided to book this house there and then and really glad we did, what a lovely house Top notch fixtures & fittings, a really nice layout. Thanks for the welcome pack of cake, choc biscuits & crisps, it was a lovely touch and much appreciated. Only about a 5+ minute walk to The Thatch pub down the road which serves delicious reasonably priced food/drinks along with its other pub, Billy Buds, next door. Have not been to Croyde since about 2013 with the whole family, six of us but yearned to return due to the village's beauty, so 3 of us went and we are glad we did, it brought back so many happy family memories.

  The cottage is a lovely place with so many little details the owner made to make you feel welcome. The fire place was fantastic (middle of the winter always a lovely cosy feature), the milk in the fridge upon arrival as well as tea, sugar and biscuits were really a warm welcome. The Xmas decoration was fantastic, it made us feel really like home to home ! Thank you for installing the dryer, it was a life saver, as the walks got really muddy and wet, but all the worthwhile! Overall the property was really well kept, very nice prepared and instructions what to do and where to go were really useful. Thank you for making our Christmas time special.

  Had an excellent stay , the property was excellent we did not arrive till after 9pm but the property was very clean , warm and welcoming, it was well equipped and the owners had thought of everything! We usually stay at Croyde but decided to try Putsborough, so know the area quite well ! We enjoyed the coastal walks to Woolacombe and sampled the delights of the “The Porthole” ! The swimming pool was excellent also and we used every day . We would definitely recommend to all our family and friends and we will definitely look to return. Thank you for a fantastic half term break !
