What our customers say about their holidays
Dale - Verified booking
Positives: really clean, well appointed, love the mix of traditional and modern, really cosy.
Location is great, short walk to various shops and cafes as well as the prom and beaches, and easy drive to South lakes and other attractions. Other people mentioned the train station and garage but neither caused us any issues, honestly passing hikers made more noise than either of these. In all we had a really nice stay and would happily stay again. Negatives: Nothing huge, just little niggles and hopefully constructive: Bathroom door neither locks nor closes properly, led to some awkward moments and us all having to loudly announce when it was occupied. Fixing the door would be very helpful! Kitchen is great but not enough utensils, cutlery etc. Hard work cooking for four with what was there, and not enough crockery and cutlery for two meals so we never really got to loading up the dishwasher fully and had to just wash by hand. Would definitely benefit greatly with some decent utensils, pans with lids and more glasses, plates and knives and forks. Parking is tight as others have mentioned but honestly it was fine really, would struggle with a larger vehicle though. Thermostat wasn't working, if we put the heating on the radiators all went full blast irrespective of the temperature. As there's no dryer or outside place to hang clothes we had no choice but to put the heating on with the clothes rack next to a radiator. We ended up having to just turn it on manually when we needed to dry clothes so it was a bit of a pain to balance, would recommend sorting the thermostat out as I'd guess it'll be expensive to run and not just inconvenient for guests. As I say though these were small niggles that didn't affect our enjoyment of our time in the lakes and at the coach house, just things that would make it even better for future guests hopefully.

A lovely cottage on the edge of the lakes.
An ideal location to explore all areas of the lakes from. This comfortably furnished property with tasteful decoration has a twin and double bedroom on the ground floor and open plan kitchen, dining and lounge room on the upper floor. The bathroom is large with a decent sized shower ( although the shower itself could do with an upgrade to make it slightly more powerful - maybe just one of those JML Bead shower heads would do the job). The kitchen is better equipped than most holiday cottages with enough equipment to prepare everything from a light snack to a full roast dinner. There is even a slow cooker, ideal for preparing a meal for your return from a day of exploring. The is a small under counter fridge with an ice box, a decent sized fan oven, 4 burner hob and a full sized dishwasher. When we booked this property we were a little concerned at the lack of dedicated parking, but in reality this was never a problem and we were able to park within a hundred yards of the property at all times of day. The property has decent wifi. Nice touches include a little packet containing fresh dish cloths and dishwasher tablets. My only suggestion to the owners would be to upgrade the TV to a basic smart TV so guests can access on demand telly. A great property at a fair price and one we would definitely return to if we want to stay in the area again.

The Village is easy to access and a good spot for exploring the Lakes.
The Cottage has a lovely lounge and kitchen area. We loved the open fire and comfortable sofa and chairs. A perfect place to relax in the evenings. The kitchen is well equipped and we found all the info and maps really useful. However, the Sykes listing should make it clearer that there is no washing machine, that the on road parking is not outside the cottage and the cottage is located on a road with consistent traffic (fine for me but not for light sleepers like my husband). In terms of the cottage, it could be improved with better quality towels/bedding, providing a dish brush or dish sponge (we bought one to leave in the cottage), ensuring the lights/lamps downstairs work (many didnât) and providing clear recycling instructions on the bins as it was impossible to know what could go in each of the different bins. I feel bad listing the complaints as the owners obviously love their cottage and we did have a good stay but there are small things that could be easily improved for a better experience and Sykes should relook at the listing as it is hard to understand a 4 star Sykes rating when there is no washing machine, a busy road, no garden and limited parking.

Wow, just wow!
...So pleased we came across Coach House number one....We arrived only to be met by the owner Matt. He was super friendly, explained things about the coach house and shared his knowledge on what and where to go in the area.... The coach house itself was just so lovely, spotlessly clean with a modern interior beautifully done to a high spec....there was even throws, dog bowls and mat left for our dogs, we could not fault it at all!...Enclosed garden for the dogs and parking right by the coach house just made it perfect, it had everything you needed for a comfortable stay....A few minutes walk to the nearest pub, The Marton Arms was so convenient, not having to drive. The pub was lovely with very friendly staff..we hit it off with Heather, the landlady straight away. Well worth a visit for food, superp!...For sure we will be returning to Ingleton and definitely be staying at the coach house, whether it be coach house 1, 2 or 3 Angie & Chris

Great venue for my birthday treat.
Our pet dog loved the garden and general layout and was fully at home at no1 coachhouse. Every thing In the kitchen was off high quality and a great touch with easy internet access and all available TV apps if required. The setting and views are spectacular and local town covers all requirements. Local pub Marton Arms was worth a visit and my birthday meal was 1st class. Matt the owner gave us a warm welcome and all information we required in a professional and easy going manner and he should be proud of what he offers his customers. To enhance his future guests which will include us he could look at blackout blinds for bedroom and certainly look at closing the open visibility of the front door as this becomes an open access to anybody looking in or more important our dog Rambo looking out and on guard. Overall in our opinion for value for money, location and relaxation 5 star which we thank you for. Many thanks Lee, Sam and Rambo.
