What our customers say about their holidays
Nikolaos - Verified booking
We had initially booked an apartment in Newquay, but Sykes were forced to cancel the booking at late notice when the Government clarified the advice around "self-contained accomodation".
With very little time to find an alternative private house or cottage we were panicking, but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise, because we then found Seascape. The property could not be in a better location, in the middle of Newquay but on a quiet road just off the main high street. There's enough space to park two cars offstreet at the rear, which is extremely rare. We found it was a 3 minute walk to the Tesco Express, a 5 minute walk to Towan Beach, with a host of shops, restaurants & bars just a few minutes walk away, and Fistral beach walkable within 15 minutes. This really was perfect for us as a family with young children as we could just get up and go to most places without the need for the car - you can even walk to Newquay Zoo & Trenance Gardens in under 15 minutes, so the only time we used the car during our 5 day stay was for trips to Porth & Watergate. An added bonus is the Costal Path less than 1km away, which is perfect for early morning runs & exploring while surround by the most amazing views imagineable. The house itself has been finished to an extremely high standard, sparkling clean and spacious with a touch of luxury. The lounge / dining room is comfortable with plenty of seating and space for kids to play, and the kitchen is huge with every device and utensil imagineable. Everything has been carefully thought out, every room was well equipped, there are large flat screen smart TVs in the main rooms, 5 great sized bedrooms with flexible sleeping arrangements, and numerous bathrooms, showers and toilets which would suit larger groups when the restrictions ease in the coming months. You even get a partial sea view from the three front rooms, something we hadn't realised before we arrived which was a nice surprise. The owner Mark was great throughout the process, calling me the night before our trip to go through all the details and answer any questions. He was available any time we needed him during our stay and left some generous treats in the fridge for our arrival which went down extremely well. Mark even contacted us to check if there was anything we felt was missing from the property that could be improved for future guests, which proves how much he cares about ensuring a great holiday is provided to anyone choosing Seascape. It ticks every box - secure, clean, comfortable, well equipped, well cared for, and in a fantastic location. We had such a great time and certainly plan to return in the future with friends and family.

Thereâs no doubt that Mawgan Porth is one of the most beautiful spots on the north coast of Cornwall.
Beautiful sunsets, caves, waterfall and rock pools at low tide, not to mention a really safe beach to surf. We absolutely love this destination. Gwillen is in a lovely spot high up overlooking the bay with beautiful views. It has the quaint charm of an old property with modern touches. All linen, and towels were clean and the beds super comfy however a few furnishings let the place down. Hence dropping a star, the attic room for children has no blinds on the windows, my son was awake at 5.30 most mornings as the sun was blaring in and the room became super hot too and that was before the heatwave week! We managed to make shift a drape over one of the windows but it didnât work that well. The sofas are old and uncomfortable to sit on and the dining chairs are falling apart. Having said all this, coffees in the conservatory and the spacious open plan area made for a nice relaxed feel. The walk to and from the beach is not for the faint hearted, small children or those who have mobility issues. Turn tight out of the apartment and go past the super expensive new builds - youâll see a track that takes you along the top to the bedruthan steps, the walk to the bay with surf boards and beach bags is doable but tricky to say the least! If going down at high tide you have to walk across the top around the bay before dropping down as the steps will be covered in water. Sykes were amazing with their communications, there was a mix up with our booking (on our side) and as a result, part of our family had to arrive later. We called Sykes a few times to try and negotiate a deal for the extras nights we requested however the owner did not want to free us a cheaper right as they were holding out for ah extra booking. The day before we left I noticed Gwillen was still available for the nights we needed so I called Sykes again and they called the owners straight away but they wanted to hold out for a 4 night booking and we only needed 2, so the price was for 4 nights. We were gutted to say the least as we really wanted to stay those extra 2 nights. All in all it was a wonderfully relaxing holiday and we would highly recommend Gwillen to an active family or group, we had a truly lovely stay.

Trevethen is an amazing cottage.
It is large and well appointed. The kitchen is well laid out with ample plates, utensils etc. We made good use of the dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The 2 double bedrooms are beautiful, both with large ensuite bathrooms. The other 2 rooms have full sized bunks and are of a good size. The dining room has a large farmhouse style table which would comfortably seat eight adults. The lounge is cozy with a working open fireplace and is very relaxing. The whole house has a lovely feel and flow. The backgarden is terraced and would be great in the summer months. There's a large summer house, 2 tables and a BBQ. You can access the garden from either the kitchen or from the landing on the first floor. Having parking for 2 cars, being a 5 minute walk to the beach, pubs and shop, Trevethen has everything and more you could ask for. Claire who is the housekeeper kept in touch prior to us arriving as storm Eunice was causing some travel problems. The cottage was warm, clean and smelt wonderful. As you can probably tell we all had a brilliant holiday and look forward to rebooking sometime next year

The location was amazing and it was so lovely to have such a great view of the sea we looked forward to having are coffee sat looking out at the view , the coast path is 2 mins from the house which was great to get down to the beach , the house was warm and the beds where comfy apart from the double bed also the double room was a bit small and had a funny smell in it , the twin room down stairs when we arrived had lots of dust hanging down from the ceiling so I had to clean that as my son has asthma , a lot of the ceilings where the same in most rooms and cobwebs and dust behind the wardrobes as well the main room door handle was hanging off when we arrived so we could not shut the door this house really needs some maintenance to smarten it up a bit and a good clean , also the windows are very dirty , the gardens are lovely and the outside shower was very handy when coming back from the beach and itâs lovely and peaceful there as well the showers in the house where good as well lots of hot water, a nice house but just needs some TLC then it would be perfect

Having Seascape withdrawal symptoms already!
This stunning property is perfect for a large group meeting up in Newquay. Starting from parking, there is plenty of room for 2/4 cars if smaller types and that is a real bonus in this area. The kitchen is large and well equipped and the lounge /dining room is also spacious. There were 9 of us and we never felt overcrowded. The bedrooms all had quality bedding and were very comfortable and where people were sharing there was enough room for them without feeling cramped The showers gave us plenty of hot water and we never once had a problem to say 9 people were using at different times We were very lucky with the weather and sat out most mornings in the little courtyard and had breakfast,or lunch. The walk onto the main highstreet is 2 minutes downhill and there are plenty of shops and restaurants (far too many to recommend) within walking distance. If you have a large group booking then this is the house for you,and we would not hesitate to use again. 10/10 for this customers satisfaction.
