What our customers say about their holidays
Lauren - Verified booking
This cottage has the potential to be exceptional.
It's very dark and cosy, which for December was great. It's tucked away without a drive, but we found the on road parking to be absolutely fine. We really enjoyed reading about the property's history, which was included as part of the welcome information. We appreciated the firewood for the first fire, and the sparkling wine in the fridge was a nice touch. There is a well stocked Spar down the road, and it is very close to some stunning beach walks. Communication with the owner was great when we couldn't find the immersion switch for the hot water - friendly and very helpful. If you are considering this cottage, though, know that you will need to bring *everything* with you. There was one toilet roll, one tea towel, one bin liner for the small kitchen bin, no hand soap, no hair dryer (not great to discover that right before a brisk beach walk in December!), no heater in either of the bedrooms. The single tea towel quickly became smelly because there is no central heating so therefore no radiator to dry it on. Many holiday lets we have stayed in have everything you need to make it a home from home - this isn't one of those properties, so just bear that in mind. Finally, for dog owners: the garden is not connected to the cottage. It is totally separate, so letting your dog out for a wee before bed or in the middle of the night isn't an option - you'll need to put their lead on and take them out. Overall a very cosy cottage full of character and history, it just needs a bit more attention to detail.

1st negative review we have ever left.
The kitchen is not that well equipped and yes we looked in all the cupboards. The kitchen light turned up on the dimmer is awful, there are 4 battery push lights 3 were dead and the other was a waste of time. The toilet has been replaced and what a bodge. All the woodwork behind the toilet is mouldy. Thereâs mould and damp in several placeâs, bathroom, corner of the bedroom and all around the front door and window. There must have been a leak because the laminate is uneven and breaking up in placeâs. Also anybody under 5ft 6â will not reach the mugâs and glasses. Last but not least, (sorry least) was the pathetic welcome pack. We were left 4 satchetâs of milk 2 tea bagâs a bit of coffee and 4 satchetâs of sugar. Oh nearly forget 4 single biscoff biscuitâs. We have rented cottageâs for yearâs and we have alwayâs been left at least a pint of milk, tea bagâs, coffee and sugar to make several drinkâs. They also told us check in was not till 4pm, the cleanerâs didnât leave till 4pm and all the floorâs were wet. On a positive note the area is beautiful and the food in the ship inn was excellent.

The property was clean and modern and the towels and bedding very soft.
The location was good for exploring the local area and the local pub at the bottom of the bank was lovely. There were plenty of maps, leaflets and local magazines which were useful as was the ability to use picnic blanket and beach toys. There were sufficient cooking facilities and the WiFi was strong. The shower head needs attention as it needed to be hand held. Also worth a mention is that this has been the only self catering accommodation that I have ever been to that provides no added welcome extras e.g. milk, tea, coffee, sugar. Not that this is a problem but it really is self catering so you do need to take all basics including washing up liquid, cooking oil and sauces. Also it is very difficult to locate the premises as the sign is very well hidden and it was only recognisable by the photo of the next house that was identified from the booking documentation. The photos do the property justice with nice artwork and well sized rooms. The outdoor space was a decent size and we used it well. I would return but at the price paid it does need a little attention.

We booked this last minute as we need a little break away from everything.
Lovely warm welcome on arrival guided to cottage. Beautiful cottage small but had everything we needed and we really loved our stay. Lovely walks for dogs around the area. Lots of beautiful views and breath taking surroundings. Was very pleased with our last minute escape. Quiet and tranquil and relaxing what more can you ask for. My 7 year old loved that there were bikes on the yard at her disposal and a park round the back of cottages. She loved the little lambs in the field opposite and went most mornings to say hello. Really would reccomend this cottage. If taking dogs you must not leave them in the property unattended it says in the book. So just be mindful that if you want to plan activities you either will plan them dog friendly or get family to look after your animals if you want a different type of holiday eating out ect. Some nice local dog friendly eating places local though. Just be mindful of this being a small barrier, but really depends on what you are wanting from your break.

Great location, the village of Rhiw is very quiet and the property has great views at the back.
Fantastic walk up to the peak, although steep in places itâs well worth it, less than 20min walk to the top at Mynydd Rhiw. Very disappointing to not have a dishwasher, albeit not mentioned in the details, the kitchen has plenty of space for one, great cooker and a 3/4 size fridge freezer. Very happy to have a washer (located in the shed) bit daunting going in the shed at night and accessing the back garden through the shed (very dark although there are security lights) but Iâm sure in the summer would be great. Bed was comfy, the dining table was extremely wobbly so only used once. Property gets warm quickly when the heating is on but can go very cold at night due to the location. One wardrobe in the double room, other double has no clothing storage apart from two very small bedside cabinets, single has a small cupboard. Good off-road parking for two cars. Overall a nice property, very friendly owner.
