  Impressed? Most definitely.

  Words escape me. From the moment we viewed the Donkey Shed we ( a family of six ), knew we had to book it. The property is exactly as shown in the photos and is a real credit to the owners Max and Jackie. Perfectly located for exploring the coast, tourist attractions and much more. Have never seen such a spotlessly clean and well presented property. So well equipped, seclude, quiet and very relaxing, it is out of this world. As grandparents we travelled down with our family of four and were absolutely gobsmacked with the property on arrival. Our family have never stayed in a quality holiday let like this and they loved it. Due to some medical issues my wife and I had to return home mid week but left the family behind to enjoy the sunny weather and do lots of exploring. They enjoyed every day. Sadly we did not get to meet Max and Jackie but our family did and have said what a lovely couple they are. Although we did not meet face to face, the communication with Max and Jackie was the best we have ever had. Even since we arrived home they have contacted us with concern about my wife’s health, 10 out of 10 for that and many thanks. Overall a perfect holiday accommodation and worth every penny.   Our experience of Puddleducks was disappointing to say the least.

  Our initial impression when we arrived was that the property was tired and in need of some TLC. It could also have been cleaner. On the Monday morning we returned to find a significant flood of water from the bathroom extending through the entrance hall and into the lounge. The owner was summoned and all three of us mopped up the water. A plumber came during the afternoon and diagnosed that the basin mixer tap was faulty and well passed its usefulness. He was to return the following day to fit a replacement. He in fact came two days later. Meanwhile we suffered a further identical leak that same evening when going to bed, so at 11 o'clock at night we were both again clearing up our second flood. No we were not pleased nor impressed with this particular property and received little benefit from our stay.

  A good looking property but a number of issues faced at the property, no hot water, no central heating, no under floor heating, towel rails not working.

  First night meant having cold showers. hot water was fixed next day but then dipped again towards end of stay. Plumbers came round to try and fix heating and radiators but were not successful. Flies in kitchen, plates and pans not left clean on arrival and crumbs in cutlery tray. Not great signal with TV and remote control. Games room doesn't have a table tennis table (as shown in photos). No tumble dryer or washing machine with dry option was available and towel rails not working made difficult to dry towels and clothes. One electric towel rail was provided to dry clothes, which had to be cleaned first as it was filthy with mud and dust. The hot tub could do with a proper clean and with an interim mid week clean during a week stay.

  Puddleducks, is warm and clean and has a lovely comfortable king size bed.

  Has most of what you need in the kitchen. Lovely large shower cubicle with plenty of hot water. Comfortable sofas in the lounge and a good size TV. Lucinda was warm and welcoming and greeted us with a lovely homemade Victoria sponge and a few treats for our dog. Lovely walks near the cottage with beautiful views of the countryside. The nearest town is Sherborn about 7 miles away. Can recommend the George for a great lunch at a reasonable price in Sherborne. Recommended for a countryside break. Possibly a little difficult to find unless you have a sat nav.

  We spent a fab week with family celebrating my hubby's 70th.

  There was plenty of space and the games room was a big hit. The kitchen was well equipped with everything needed. A welcome pack including milk was very useful. The garden is large, private and totally enclosed which made it safe for children. We didn't have a dog with us but the garden would have been ideal I'm sure if we had. It was very warm during our stay but by keeping the large back patio doors open, the cooler air reached the upstairs. The owners are on hand but not intrusive. It was a most lovely week's stay.
