  Fantastic house and has everything you need for a comfortable enjoyable stay.

  Our teenagers loved the games room in the loft area and we all enjoyed the hot tub! The enclosed garden space was perfect for our energetic dog. The location is perfect to get to Westward Ho beach in about 25 minutes which is a lovely beach as long as you’re mobile enough to get over the cobbled stone wall first and Ilfracombe only half hour away where we took a fabulous speedboat trip. We found a gem of a hotel 5 mins away in Appledore - Durrant hotel I think it was called. They do lovely food and staff are very friendly and helpful it’s dog friendly! Really enjoyed our stay at Seagrass and will be back but just a couple of things would have made it a 10 all round for us, we feel for 4 plus people an extra comfy chair in lounge area or foot stools or pufe would make it more comfortable. There is just 1 TV in lounge which is very small, films we watched in the evening had tops of heads missing!

  We had a great week at Seagrass.

  The welcoming pack for the family and dog were excellent. The hot tub made a great addition. When we had been on a long walk or bike ride it was nice to relax in when we got back to the cottage. The facilities were good and the cottage had everything you need. The upstairs area came in real handy when the weather wasn't great so you can play table football or board games while you wait for the weather to improve. With shops only 5 minutes away it is in a great location as well. When we arrived however there were quite a few cobwebs that we had to brush/hoover away in the living room and the pillows in the double room could do with renewing as they had lost there softness and were quite flat. Even with these couple of slight issues we would definitely go back and stay again.

  Great property, the steps up to it from the road weren’t a problem and the car park space was close enough.

  On arrival we did question what we had booked, we noticed that the front windows were dirty (there had been storms, but the house keeper could have wiped them over) and the patio furniture was very rusty, but once inside things improved immensely. We very much enjoyed our stay. However, we found getting the temperature of the shower in the bathroom difficult to control and the wall bracket holding the shower head had one screw to hold it in place, so if you held the shower by hand the wall bracket would turn over. We also found the water temperature to the kitchen sink variable. After a short burst of hot water it quickly ran to like warm. A colander would be useful. None of the above particularly affected our stay, but worth noting all the same.

  We loved this house, after staying in many Sykes properties this was one of my faves, Purley based on the tasteful decoration it has been beautiful finished and spotlessly clean.

  Everything you needed for your stay. One thing that I was particularly touched by, was the milk, shortbread biscuits, tea & coffee. That was very nice, also the provision for the dog, feeding/water bowls/blanket all you would need had been thought of. If you wanted to make any improvements a minor things you could do, one would be the cordless hoover is really rubbish at picking up, esp dog hair. I would recommend the 'Shark Anti Hair Wrap Cordless Pet Vacuum' we have it at home. It's Light, picks dog hair up, bigger bin. Easy to use. Or just a soft broom would better that the hoover that's there at present. I love Sykes cottages you alway know what you will get, continuely good standard time after time. Thankyou for a pleasant stay.

  It was very expensive compared to other properties we stayed at in May half terms but wasn’t as comfortable.

  We found all the external doors hard to open plus some windows. The key safe was very difficult to use. The wooden floors were slippery and our four year old grandchild slipped and cut her lip. The stairs were slippery too. I would definitely recommend taking good slippers to wear. There were no bin bags - luckily we had something suitable for the kitchen bin but not the food bin, which we put out on the correct day but it wasn’t emptied - there was another there with flies so obviously that hadn’t been emptied for a while. There were lots of toys for the children to play with which was good. The kitchen was nice and well equipped We left on the Wednesday morning - two days early.
