What our customers say about their holidays

We are so sad to be leaving this cottage today.
It was a last minute booking and I was a little worried about the lack parking and clothes dryer but we've had the most amazing week. We parked the car at the end of the ginnel when we arrived on Friday and haven't moved it since. Richmond is a beautiful place to stay with fab markets, a mix of traditional and more modern shops, lots of pubs/restaurants/cafes, the castle and cinema all of which are within a 10/15 minutes walk away from the cottage. Richmond is extremely dog friendly which has been lovely for us as a family. Particular mention goes to the Sip cafe which is on the way into town and does gorgeous food and drinks and makes dogs very welcome. The cottage has everything you need; a large well equipped kitchen, good sized bedrooms with stunning views, very comfortable beds, a bathroom with a hand held shower and waterfall shower over the bath (not mentioned in the cottage details). The living room is cosy with a large TV and lots of books and games. The garden is small but has been big enough for our dog to potter around comfortably, and we've made good use of the hot tub especially after all the hills we've walked!! (The heating is very quick once you switch it on so I needn't have worried about the lack of dryer). We've spent a lot of time in the snug reading our books and chilling. We could have done with more test strips for the hot tub but this was rectified quickly when we rang Sykes. We would definitely recommend this cottage to others as we've had such a wonderful stay.

Realising after many months in lockdown we didn't need an extravagant holiday, so we chose to glamp it up and stayed in this most charming little Shepherds hut, in the middle of the countryside on the edge of a farm.
Warmly greeted by Mandy and her daughter, we were explained the ins and outs, and left to our own devices! No TV, WiFi or Internet connection, it was pure bliss and tranquility. We ventured out a couple of times, but quite frankly just enjoyed sitting out on the deck with a cuppa, chatting and playing games. The fire heated hot tub was the best ever! Mandy even text us before our arrival to see if we wanted it pre-heated, very thoughtful and I jumped at the offer. The tub was super toasty, and stayed warm enough to jump in first thing in the morning-and I took full advantage of this. Kitchen was well equipped for our needs, the fridge was much bigger than expected and we were able to fill it with more supplies. There was also a cheeky bottle of prosecco left for us and a bag of ice! An unexpected treat and very well received-nice touch that! The bed was a little hard, so 3 nights seemed a good amount of time to stay before any aches begin. Shower had a good pressure and heated quickly. I was worried with the recent cooler mornings/night I would get cold, but actually it stayed a very comfortable temperature throughout the day/night. And lastly, had regular visits from the resident and dog, super friendly and affectionate and just added to our wonderful stay. Highly recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Flints Cottage and can't wait to visit again.
The cottage is pretty much central to every amenity you would need without being noisy or busy. We managed to get free parking for the duration of our stay in Frenchgate which is a quick cut through a ginnel away from the front door, perfect! The cottage itself is quaint and well laid out whilst having every modern gadget you would need. My husband is well over six foot so had to be careful with head heights but this cottage is sixteen century so you expect such things. The hot tub was an added bonus and we enjoyed a couple of dips in it whilst enjoying a glass of wine in relative privacy and seclusion. The mattress on the main bed is lovely and comfortable, can't speak for the rest as there were only two of us. We did notice there wasn't a hoover available for use and maybe an old dog towel could come in handy on inclement days to save your carpets but luckily the weather was great and our little dog Ava really enjoyed the complimentary dog treats! All in all we have been visiting Richmond now for over twenty years and this has to be one of the best places we've stayed. See you again soon!

Had a lovely 3 night stay with my partner in early December.
Needless to say, the hot tub was the highlight and an amazing treat even in winter - refreshingly crisp, cold air coupled with steaming, toasty water! We thought we would need heated blankets and hot water bottles to keep us warm in the hut, but actually the portable heater provided was already enough to keep us warm and cozy. Mandy was very welcoming and friendly, and just a text message away from bringing us more logs for the hot tub. There were also friendly cats and a dog that liked to come say hello. The hut also has plates/bowls/glasses/mugs/utensils all provided, and also basic pots and pans. There's also a good-sized fridge that has plenty of space to store several meals (though we mostly went out to restaurants, plus a takeaway from Infinitii on our last night who were able to deliver straight to the hut). We really enjoyed our stay and are thinking of coming back again one summer to experience the hut during warmer weather! PS. A really lovely little cottage with everything you need for a stay in Beaumaris. Ideally located with a baker shop at the end of the road for bacon and/or sausage baps in the morning. Easy to park near the cottage (without charge) either on the street outside the cottage or on the adjoining road next to the Gaol. The only time we didn't get a space was when the BBC Antiques Roadshow was in the Castle so there were no spaces anywhere apart from on The Green! A neat and tidy kitchen stocked with all the crockery, cutlery and utensils you need with milk and scones provided on arrival! Lovely touch. A cosy little lounge/diner which is more than ample for 4 adults and a Welsh Terrier. The front bedroom is great, very roomy, plenty of storage space and a comfortable bed. The back bedroom is smaller with a double bed but not much storage space. All in all, a great cottage, fantastic location, walking distance to all parts of the town, clean and tidy. Highly recommended.
