What our customers say about their holidays
Lucy - Verified booking
The cottage was just as described and advertised in the pictures.
The hot tub is lovely and if you choose to go in it at night it has fairy lights and an outdoor heater which is a lovely touch - it is more than big enough for the four guests staying in the Hayloft so if you book it for private use, it is very spacious and makes for a lovely evening. The Hayloft lounge has three sofas which made for a really spacious and comfortable communal space - we were four adults and two dogs and we had lots of room to relax. The log burner is a lovely touch and gives it a really cosy feel. The owner had put up and decorated a real Christmas tree which was such a lovely surprise to walk in and see. The bedrooms are large - one is massive. Really comfy beds, plenty of storage, complete peace at night. The bathroom is spacious and clean with a great shower. Having our own fenced off paddock for the dogs was ideal and the dog agility space gave them plenty of space to run around and socialise with the other visiting dogs. There is a pub about a 20 min walk away - not all of this is paved so not that easy to walk in the dark but the cottage does provide a torch. There are other pubs within a short driving distance that we went to on the Sunday for food as the pub near the cottage stops serving food on a Sunday past 1.30pm. Would be great if bathrobes and slippers were provided for the walk to the hot tub - I think other cottages may offer this as the welcome book mentioned it but we could not find these in the Hayloft. But that is a tiny suggestion as otherwise everything was great - would definitely recommend.

What a lovely cottage in a lovely location!
The location is set in beautiful countryside and in a very quiet location- we werenât disturbed by anyone around and in the mornings you could hear owls and birds from the windows. Sheep also love to roam free nearby! The cottage itself is incredibly spacious- our family of 6 all had plenty of room to move freely. There is an added bonus of the childrenâs playroom for them to break off into as well. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable and the added extra of a utility room and downstairs toilet is great. The log burning stove was so lovely to sit in front of and provided some nice extra warmth on the chillier nights. The owners have clearly taken the time to think of anything and everything that you could need in a home away from home and I canât think of anything we wished we had with us. Thereâs a travel cot, baby bath and wooden highchair provided for babies which is much better than some other cottages weâve been to. The downstairs toilet is the only toilet available for everyone to use as upstairs thereâs an en suite- this was a bit tricky for our 3 year old to get to in the night so was a bit of a downside and the playroom doesnât have a radiator so a bit cold- although the owners have got extra heaters that could have been used. Overall a great stay. Thank you

The house is lovely and quirky, plenty of space, nice features, well decorated. I can't give it 5 stars though due to a couple of things. Firstly when we arrived, the lock box to get the keys wouldn't work. The housekeeper, Michael, came out and let us in and managed to repair it. Secondly, on the second night, we wanted to use the hot tub. The lights over the tub were not on. I sent Michael a text, he said they should be on as they work on a timer but that I could turn them on outside which I did. We then noticed that the hot tub wasn't very warm and the control panel was completely off. I contacted Michael again who said it was likely there had been a power cut which was disappointing. Yes very disappointing especially as there was no apology. I said I hoped it was an easy fix and he said that it was a simple reset but would take 8 hours to come back up to temperature. One of the reasons we booked the house was for the hot tub. We wouldn't have minded if we had received an apology but none came. It sadly blighted what had been a lovely stay. I would recommend the house though another bathroom or a better 2nd shower rather than one you hold over the bath would probably be more practical.

This is a cracking cottage.
Has 3 bedrooms, 2 reception rooms, 2 shower rooms and a large kitchen diner. Although there was only the 2 of us on this occasion, there is plenty of room for a family getaway. The facilities were spot on, everything you could ask for, like home from home. Log fire was a dream to ward off the chills of the evening, but to be fair we were lucky with the weather during the day for the week we were there. Although we didn't use the garden, it is very secluded and can see it being a lovely sun trap in summer - also enclosed so no issues with either little uns or dogs getting away from you. It's not detached, but we didn't have any issues with the neighbours or any noise when we were there - and lovely doris (sheep) and friends were there to greet us every time we came out of the cottage. There are many scenic walks from the doorstep, but it is a short walk to village pub and shops if you didn't want to venture far. Would I recommend this cottage? Yes indeed I would and if ever I want to return to the area, I know where I will look first.

We were both over whelmed with the Hayloft , the greeting on arrival was so welcoming .
It was the perfect holiday so peaceful and just what I needed after loosing my dad 3 days before our holiday. The Hayloft was stunning , clean and there wasnât one thing we needed . The paddock was perfect for our four dogs who just love to run and run . It was the first holiday away in taking all four rescue dogs but we really shouldnât have worried as Karen and Stuart had thought of everything for them to have fun too . Even an outside shower with towels and shampoo which was amazing after muddy walks . We hope to revisit within the year with other family members and canât wait to return. I couldnât express enough if you are hesitating in booking this holiday you truly have no worries . Book now for a wonderful break and high standards of hospitality too . Thank you Karen and Stuart for everything hope to see you soon . Shelley and mark . May 2023
