  The Hayloft was a wonderfully appointed cottage and at first we were thrilled.

  Unfortunately going downstairs we noticed a musky damp smell. I hardly slept that night and my asthma was very bad. The bedding smelt musky and the next morning we pulled the bed out and the wall was damp and the back of the headboard had small mould patches on it. We had to leave as my asthma was very bad. We left that morning, the owner was away so could not tell them personally but we did ring them. We were assured that if Sykes did not given us a part refund she would sort something out. We had to find alternative accommodation but we only stayed for 3 more nights and had to cut our holiday short. On return we followed up and after several calls and messages to the owner and Skyes they have refused to give us a part refund and say there is no mould! So it is our word against the owner and her cleaner! We have stayed at many Airbnbs etc and have never had this problem We will not be using or recommending Sykes again and we will not recommend The Hayloft.

  The worst property we have stayed in!

  !!!. Black mould on all the showers. Needs a handle putting in the bath to help people get out. Skirting boards need dusting and painting. Dust on all the headboards and wardrobe. Fridge had thick ice at the back of it and was filthy inside so had to clean it!!!. Very shabby. Also in the information he never mentioned it was on a main busy road, since I’m going through a stressful divorce and my mum is 80 on a months time it really wasn’t what we wanted . The oven was dirty , thick with grease on doors and inside. Pans in the draws were thick with grease!!. The patio doors - the rims were coming off and couldn’t open the blinds easily. All the windows in the house were dirty too!!!. No tea towels or dishcloths. No cleaning materials!!!!. Overall very unhappy with our stay

  We have stayed in this apartment on a number of occasions.

  The views and location are excellent. However the decor is in need of some upgrading now and the chair and sofa are not very comfortable. The accommodation is ideal for a couple but we note that the price has gone up quite considerably. Not sure if this is because Sykes have now taken over from Coast and Country Cottages. There were no welcoming touches i.e pack of biscuits or nice bottle of wine which we have had previously. We note that the previous owners of the property have now sold it and wonder if this has anything to do with any of the above comments.

  This is a super little flat with a wonderful view.

  Ideal for a couple + a dog. Nice that it's on the ground floor and has everything you'd need for a stay. Our view was spoilt by a workman's van parking outside the front window day and night for nearly the whole week. This was such a shame as the view is really lovely. Whilst we weren't in the flat all day it was a shame that in the mornings and evenings we couldn't take in the view. If it hadn't have been for this I would have given this 5 stars. Dartmouth is a lovely place and we would definitely return.

  We`ve had a wonderful week at The Hayloft.

  It is a beautiful 5* accommodation. The owners have cut no corners in making a stay here really comfortable with everything you could possibly need. The bed is so comfortable that we wanted to take it home with us. The wood burner gives a lovely homely feel. Thank you for all the lovely touches that made us feel so welcome. We will definitely come back as there is so much to see and do. We will have no hesitation in recommending The Hayloft to friends and family, its a wonderful little place.
