  We absolutely loved the Boats, the location is perfect and the apartment itself is wonderful.

  We did leave a note for housekeeping, as there was an awful lingering smell from the fridge when we arrived, which we discovered emanated from a bottle of milk that had been left and which had curdled. There was also a bag of frozen chips in the freezer, which could have been useful perhaps, but we never cook whilst away, as we make good use of the abundance of restaurants nearby. The batteries on the remote for the bedroom tv need replacing, as do the back-up batteries on the smoke/ heat alarms in the second bedroom and kitchen area (the red warning lights were flashing every few minutes). We did have a problem in the car park, as the car in the adjacent space was a large Range Rover. Fortunately we had travelled in my wife’s small car so with a bit of effort we managed to squeeze in. If I had brought my own car, we would not have been able to park due to the stone pillar at the one corner of the space limiting access. Perhaps prospective holidaymakers could be advised of the limited space available, and recommend, if they have the option, to do as we did and travel in a reasonably sized car. We would also have found it helpful to have two door keys (two are described in the welcome pack, but only one was provided). None of this was a major concern to us though, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  The property was perfect for us on many levels and beautifully presented.

  Everything has been catered for with an extremely well stocked kitchen, The cleanliness was second to none. Given our previous experience at another Carbis Bay property last year, it was pleasant to see the cleanliness issues had been addressed. The location is perfect. However, we knew the area hence why we selected this property. Unfortunately our stay was left a bit somber due to a leak in the roof which occurred early in to our stay. Given the leak was within the cupboard which housed the main consumer unit, this did cause concern. Carbis Bay representative attended the same day and a roofer was called the following, who confirmed there is a hole in the felt roof which in turn was causing the leak. Due to the weather, heavy rain. the leak did become worse and as such we no longer felt secure within the property and left a few days before our holiday was due to end. We have had no follow up from Carbis Bay since they acknowledged us vacating the property. I do hope this matter was addressed whilst the property was empty.

  The holiday was very good.

  However my experience has been extremely tarnished by the entirely unacceptable customer service. I left the accommodation and later realised I had left a drawer uncleared with some expensive clothing and other items in it. I have called you and sent 3 separate messages through the portal the first of which went on 31.07.2024. Each time I received an automated response telling me it would be dealt with within 24 hours. Now 11 days later I have not had a single response. I do not know whether the clothing has ever been found and could be sent to me(you clearly state for a fee if £30 this is possible) or whether it has been taken - I simply have not heard anything at all. I have booked 3 holidays with Sykes and I will after this never do so again.

  My family and I had a fabulous stay at Penlan during a very hot week in July.

  The house has been beautifully renovated recently and feels very relaxed and calming when you arrive. I loved the layout and seating areas which are really good for families and lots of space too! The welcome pack and photo album helps you to settle in and learn about the area. Our main feedback is about the garden, we would have loved there to be a BBQ as the disposable ones are not very effective or safe. But we've got our fingers crossed that one may appear by the time we go back next year, as we've already booked again for August 2022! Carbis Bay is a beautiful area with links to surrounding towns on the train being really quick and avoiding having to keep driving everywhere. I've reccomended this home to lots of family and friends already.

  This has been out 3rd visit, and thoroughly enjoyable, but I would just mention a few things.

  We were disappointed there was no hand soap in the bathroom or en-suite. On arrival after a journey a fairly necessary thing to have in place really.Of course we go to tesco as soon as we've unpacked. The metal dish rack on the draining board is rusty. Not all the undercupboard lighting works, the en-siite basin tap needs some adjusting and the main bathroom toilet roll holder needs replacing, although everyone seems to think it's great fun taking bets on if it's still going to be there! Having said all that we really love staying at Valley View and are looking forward to our next visit. The help line people are wonderful and anything that needs tending to is dealt with swiftly. As I say my comments are not complaints, just comments!
