What our customers say about their holidays

Dirty and tired.
Stayed at NO. 16. Absolutely disgusting. We tried to stick it out but after a few days we couldn't carry on with it. We contacted Skyee Cottage to be helped but received little support. We had to find another property. We were then told after we left that the carpets and sofa are going to be replaced on the 20th June 2024. Overall... Cons. 1. Decore is tired. 2. Carpets are soiled with heavy stains. 3. Sofa and chairs are rancid. Absolutely disgusting. Made us feel itchy and uncomfortable with the state of the place. 4. Found dirt and food benind sofa. Kitchen draws had crumbs and dirt. 5. Windows were filthy and full of cobwebs. Thick Dirt and dust behind and under beds. 6. Never complained about a holiday before but this was a joke. Had to wash our cloths when we got out. Pros. 1. Mattress was dirty but not stained. Very hard but not a problem. 2. Room sizes were ok as well. 3. The Site was us ok for us . Staff were very friendly. Pool was ok. And we liked the table tennis and ping pong. 4. Parking for 1 car.. 5.Decking area was nice. 6. Kitchen has what you need. (Tiles are gruby tho). Please check the standard of no. 16 Savita Cottage before going. Ensure the upgrades have happened. It's no joke. It's terrible. I don't consider myself to be fussy. But it was awful especially for the price. As it stands we are awaiting some sort of resolution. But to be honest I'm not holding out much hope. As we just keep getting told the owner will be spoken to and then we'll get an update. As of close of business today we have had nothing

We have just returned from a week in Dartmouth, and had a fabulous time.
The property is lovely, well situated with great views and nearby spa, swimming pool, gym and golf facilities. We had 7 adults and 2 babies, sharing 4 double bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. The property has excellent facilities, with quality furniture and fittings (mostly new John Lewis items), lots of extras such as tennis rackets (for use on the nearby courts), high chair, stair gate, travel cot, kids toys (fishing nets, crab lines, bucket & spade) etc. The kitchen is equipped with one under counter fridge, one under counter freezer, and a bottle/drinks fridge in the utility, a washer dryer, dishwasher, oven/hob, and Nespresso coffee machine. I had read some reviews regarding the size of the fridge, but we didn't think this was an issue, shopping every other day at the nearby Sainsburys supermarket. There is a charcoal BBQ, with coal and lighters supplied, along with an internal log burner and logs. The property is a short walk to the car park. Again some reviews have criticised this, but we did not experience any problems. I would suggest that people booking this property should bring wheeled suitcases, and if you have (or can borrow) a folding festival trolley (as we did), this would make life a lot easier (a suggestion for the owners perhaps?). Overall, we really enjoyed our week and hope to return at some point in the future.

Unfortunately the standard of accommodation is not as described.
It had not been cleaned on arrival, However, the resort staff were marvellous and cleaned it immediately. As this accommodation is privately owned, it seems there was a lack of communication about whose responsibility it was to clean. The sofa is threadbare with holes in and awful improvised cushions stuffed in making the seats uncomfortable. It is advertised as a standing shower in the main bathroom but there is no hook at height, so in effect only one shower workable. This shower leaked all over the floor. There were not enough of the same sized glasses in the kitchen for 5 of us (4 of each) and glasses were cracked. There was not enough cutlery either (only 4 knives!). It would have been nice to have more plates than just the six as not enough then for any extra when prepping food etc. The prepping knives (paring etc) were all very blunt and unusable, meaning the only sharp knife available to use in prepping was the serrated bread knife! The fridge door was broken. The carpets were filthy and desperately need replacing. It could be made very nice but clearly the owners have not spent any money on it, so for the price we paid, it was inadequate. This is a shame as the resort itself was lovely. If I were to go back, I would rent one of the resort owned cottages as they appeared much nicer.

Overall the cottage was lovely and well equipped for a party of our size.
It was decorated beautifully and had good sized communal areas that were comfortably furnished. Really pleased with the level of wood available for the wood burner and that there were fire-lighters, kindling and matches provided. As we were made aware a few days before our trip, we had was the inconvenience we had of the shower not working in the master bedroom en-suite but we appreciated the compensation received. We did find it difficult to control the water temperature in the shower in the family bathroom, it would suddenly change part way through the shower to luke warm or very hot. The flush on the toilet in the master bedroom en-suite was a bit temperamental. We enjoyed the use of the golf club facilities and the beautiful setting. I am not sure if the cottage is owned by the golf club, if so I would also feedback that as an avid walker, it would have been nice to be able to have access to footpaths directly from the cottage as the golf course was out of bounds to walkers and the dog walking path was very short. Overall a lovely stay with a beautiful well equipped cottage. Thank you.

Overall we enjoyed our weekend away, however the property we stayed in (Rose Cottage) wasn't the one confirmed on the booking.
We had booked to stay at Primrose Cottage but on arrival were guided to the property next to it. Thinking they may have been similar, we continued with our stay at Rose cottage as it had the same amount of beds we were expecting. But after a couple of the guests had an uncomfortable night's sleep in the twin room we were left wondering whether the original booking at Primrose would have been more comfortable. We then realised there was another family staying there which explained the change of property last minute. We would have appreciated honest communication from the owners about the this, especially given one of the beds were particularly uncomfortable. We also noticed that only a few properties could watch Netflix at one time, which meant if guests were already using the account others weren't able to. The tea, coffee and biscuits were really appreciated. It would have been helpful to have some salt and oil to cook with and also communication around how to shut the twin bedroom blind (or have it already closed), as this was difficult to pull down using the hooked pole.
