  The property is beautiful.

  Carys the owner is so attentive she couldnt have done more to welcome us and try to make our stay wonderful. We arrived to homemade lemon cake and milk in the fridge. The property is well stocked with toilet rolls, cleaning products, towels and firewood. The surroundings are beautiful and it was so lovely to see the cows and sheep do vlose to us. We had a marvelous holiday with only one hiccup being the farms dogs. We took a walk off of the property grounds to see the train and sheep by the stream only to be met by 2 territorial farm dogs who were roaming freely on the road leading up to the property. They cornered me at the gate barking and snarling and I was just grateful my small grandchildren hadn't come with us on the walk as the dogs were displaying agressive behaviour and it made me feel worried my husband or I were.going yo be bitten. Then, the next day one of them jumped over the stable door to the cottage and jumped up at the table where we were eating breakfast and knocked a cup and glass down. Carys was wonderful when we spoke to her and she did try her best to improve the situation explaining that the dogs shouldnt be unsupervised and contacting the farm to make sure they were keeping the dogs under supervison. However, the Farmer let her down as the dogs were still able to come freely over to the cottage and approach my pregnant daughter in law barking and snarling at the gate when it had blown too in the wind and we were returning home from a trip out. The dogs were unsupervised a lot of the time, we just made sure that if we could see and here them we kept the children inside and the door shut. If you do stay here just be aware that there are territorial working dogs roaming freely around the farm grounds that can access the area that the cottage is in.

  Thank you so much, we enjoyed our stay at Y Bwthyn enormously.

  We visit it often in our memories. It's a very beautiful, well presented Chapel house with spectacular views of the hillside. We were made to feel especially welcome with a lovely hamper of delicious treats. The milk in the fridge was joy to behold as we had not managed to purchase any on route and we were all ready for a cup of tea when we arrived!! The interior is well thought out and cosy. It was lovely to have both a bathroom and walk in shower. There is attention to detail with plug in nightlights to help navigate the property at night and a discreet stair gate to safeguard younger visitors. Y Bwthyn is situated in a very quite area with an abundance of wildlife. We enjoyed many a morning and evening watching the nesting Martins and pipistrelle bats flying around. The three free range sheep who would walk past the Chapel on an evening, pause to stare at us before munching on the hedgerow, made us smile as we sat out enjoying a nightcap in the property's front garden. The Velux windows in the property allowed the light and breath taking views to stream in, adding to the serenity and beauty of the property. There are lots of lovely walks in the vicinity, such as bird rock and an iron age fort, Castlle Y Bere and large lake for wild water swimming. Aberdovey, Tywn, Barmouth and Dolgoch falls are all well worth a visit. It was lovely having Sue, who owned the property, so close by, and we did enjoy our chats and seeing her amazing photographs of animals, birds and landscapes. Thank you very much for having us.   Y Bwthyn is a true hidden gem.

  Susan the owner was so lovely and the welcome basket went down a treat. The cottage was just perfect. My disabled mother really benefited from the down stairs very large double bedroom and the e-suite wet room was beyond ideal. Y Bwthyn cottage was spotless and we wanted for nothing. There was everything that you could possible want. It was cosy but so roomy at the same time. The 2 upstairs bedrooms were also extremely spacious and the bathroom too. Susan was so friendly without being invasive. She was very informative about the history of Y Bwthyn. I honestly can't think of a single this that was not perfect. We may have only had a couple of days there but I would truly love to go again. I cannot recomend Y Bwthyn highly enough. Thank you Susan

  Beautiful cottage in fabulous location.

  Gorgeous house pretty and clean and well kitted out. Sat nav and phones didn’t work at all maybe due to the weather. You need an ordnance survey map handy at ALL times. Needs a better explanation on the description for dogs. NO back garden, nowhere to walk dogs at the house (too many sheep, steep road) or let them outside for doggy business! Very dark at night and needed a torch to take dogs for toilet. Also it would have been even lovelier if the house had a log fire to come back to!!! But even after all this I would still recommend it to others! Ps Far too many jobs to do at the end of the stay like cleaning, washing, stripping beds. Also very sad not to get in until 4 and have to leave by 9.30. Seems a bit unjust!!!

  We had a fabulous family stay at Y Bwthyn and would definitely return again.

  The cottage was immaculate, comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed and more after jam packed days of adventure. Was a little surprised to find the backyard was a graveyard, which wouldnt have been appropriate for our BBQ. It unsettled one of us for the first night and it's worth noting if you aren't comfortable with this sort of thing. We took our dog with us and even though we didn't use the blankets/bedding provided it was lovely to have the option. Sue left a welcome hamper which was a lovely touch and much appreciated. The location was beautiful and quiet, and felt safe, even when walking the dog around midnight. It is a child friendly property and our girls are already asking when we can return.
