The house is ideally located for walking into Padstow although beware that the walk back is up a very steep hill, but steep hills seems to be the norm throughout Padstow, so if you have mobility issues or aren't the fittest then you need to be mindful of this. The house was lovely and fitted out with very good quality items and cleaned to a good standard. It is excellent if you have dogs as the yard is very secure with a hose pipe which comes in very handy to clean off sandy dogs. There is a Tesco within walking distance of the house which we found handy and is also only a 15 minute drive from some lovely bays. I would definitely have no qualms about stopping in the house again and would also highly recommend it to anyone with a small family and those with dogs.

The holiday property is excellent and the kitchen has been refurbished to an exceptional standard. The lounge has a lovely sunny aspect and patio door to garden. The garden has good quality patio furniture and overlooks lovely open fields. The bedrooms are very clean and well presented in neutral colour schemes. Bathroom is a good size with bath/shower combo and done in modern white tiles with hints of grey making it very smart. The owner had left some sweet treats and milk, coffee and teas to welcome us. Brilliant cottage with all you need, thank you Wales Cottages.

This has been a wonderful week. The house is quite exceptional and has made us feel at home. Lovely to return in the evening to relax. Area is in a lovely setting that is wonderful to look out in the morning. Countryside and coastline is gorgeous and we have enjoyed the best of it with sunny weather. It was lovely to be welcomed with a box of cakes which was a wonderful gesture and we knew from that point that it was going to be an exceptional week' We hope to book again next year.

This is our second time staying at this idyllic cottage, and we will be back for our third stay. The cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxed stay. Everyone is very friendly and we enjoyed the homemade cakes and milk for a cuppa very much. The local butcher has excellent meat too. We spent a lot of time on Penbryn beach which is a lovely sandy beach and only about 10 mins drive away - ice creams at the cafe are well worth trying.

Forest Retreat is an exceptional cottage and we loved every minute of our stay there. The location is unique - Byrness, a 1950s village set within the Redesdale forests - and the house is beautifully conceived. The furniture and equipment are all of a high standard and we adored the interior design. The cottage was also impeccably clean. Forest Retreat is over 400 miles away from where we live, but we long to return there.
