  Whilst the property was well equipped it did look like it had been furnished with odds and sods.

  The cleanliness was poor and the property was very tired with some furniture and various decorating issues. There were trailing wires in the lounge which could have caused problems. There were cables hanging down underneath the kitchen cupboards. These are really a safeguarding issue. Upon contacting Sykes the call handler made all the right noises regarding attending to same and promised to call back. When chasing the same handler said they had contacted the owner as Sykes were not responsible for maintenance of property. I disagreed as I had a contract with them not the owner and asked for their Manager to call me which never happen. I’ve did contact owner but didn’t come to inspect the property and I provided photos and a video to highlight the state of the accommodation. When highlighting the state of the back space and rotten gate the owner said the outside space wasn’t really for use but there is a washing machine and line plus an outside shed for the storage of bikes if needed. The gate could not be used so if s bike was being stored it would have had to go through the cottage.

  This was the first time we have been away just the six of us. We have had a magical week exploring The Northumberland coast. We have visited Alnwick, Warkworth, Druridge Bay, Newcastle and Amble itself. We did not really need to leave the house as the views from the front have been breathtaking. We have been spoilt with the weather this week. It has been the best week of weather this year and we have really cooked out. If anyone is looking for suggestions we would recommend Paddle boarding at Druridge Bay, all sunsets and sunrises, playing pool at The Old Store House and exploring The Alnwick Castle & Gardens. Thank you for a lovely week and catering for all the our needs. The house could not have been more perfect!

  We had a really lovely holiday. Puffin View House was a really great place to stay – so comfortable, welcoming, beautifully furnished and well-equipped. We loved early morning walks along the beaches followed by coffee on the fab balcony with its stunning view of the sea. We were lucky with the weather and packed in all our favourite Northumberland walks (Hepburn Woods & Ros Castle, the Cheviot, Embleton to Craster and back) plus found some new walks. Cake at Bertram’s in Warkworth is always a treat and we loved Spurelli’s ice creams and fish and chips from just up the road (best batter ever!). Thank you – would definitely recommend Puffin House and would stay again for sure!

  What a wonderful place to come for a holiday after the last 15 months. As many have said before us, this is a beautiful place and so well decorated. The welcome basket was also so well stocked with lots of delicious treats. We would recommend Sea and Soil in Amble and the Potted Lobster in Bamburgh for food. Fish and Chips were delicious at The Fish Shack, The Old Boat House. We walked the coastal path from Craster to Dunstanburgh and went to The Jolly Fisherman for dinner. Cragside House was fabulous, along with Embleton Bay for a beach day, we even went in the water for a swim. We thoroughly enjoyed Billy Shields for the Farne Island boat trip.

  The house is gorgeous and the view is amazing. We had a great stay. There is nothing I could think of that we needed that you haven’t supplied with the house. It’s a great house and I can see why you bought it! Wish we had booked for 2 weeks. We will definitely be back. We added some tips in the guest book. We went fishing yesterday with a local guy called Kevin and he said I could leave his info too in case future guests fancied a fishing trip. The wee selection of books for kids was a lovely touch and Luisa loved the ones about puffins. Looking forward to coming back. Good luck with the house, although I am sure you won’t need it.
