  We loved this cottage.

  Considering it was a last minute booking due to circumstances beyond our control we were completely satisfied with our accommodation. The cottage is fully equipped , the owner has thought of everything to make a comfortable stay. The kitchen had everything needed to cook a meal as we didn't want to eat out each evening. I was glad that cleaning products were there to use during our stay as this has always been an issue when staying away from home. The cottage is situated in a great locality near to a beautiful stretch of beach which is always what we look for in booking somewhere and having a pub within walking distance was a nice bonus plus some interesting places to visit. The gesture of welcome cookies and a card were thoughtful and lovely. We all enjoyed the break away and I would gladly recommend this property to others and we hope to come back in the near future.   Stairs steep and narrow, bathroom tiny and whilst the shower was good it was a tight squeeze on/off toilet.

  A larger than average person may struggle. Also, towels need to be more generous in size please. Parking on the narrow street outside is a bit of a lottery. Our main problem was the heating or rather the lack of it. The limited central heating, such as it was, did not materialise all weekend, so it was a chilly stay and yes, there was a log burner but who wants to faff about with that at 7am. Otherwise the cottage is fairly well equipped and in a lovely setting. Sofa and bed comfy. Tip, hold the switch down on the kettle for a few seconds otherwise it will keep flipping off and the lamp next to bookcase flickers when switching on and we also found that the front right gas ring does not stay lit. None of these small things particularly spoiled our stay but probably need checking.

  We actually ended up staying in End cottage as the lady who owned it met us and said it was empty and we could park right outside Cottage was spotless and was obviously very well cleaned and maintained There’s a small outside fully enclosed garden with 2 tables Great for us to relax in with our elderly dog The cottage was certainly warm enough , in fact we only used the gas wood burner ( effect ) in the evenings The views from upstairs were if the beach, so so lovely The owners live next door and were lovely people , we were greeted with a bottle of wine and Welsh cakes , such a kind though We’d highly recommend and would certainly stay here again

  We were knocked out by this cottage.

  The decor and layout are clever, the shower and kitchen wonderful and the general quality of furnishings excellent. We have been coming to the Lake District for 25+years and this is the cottage that we think is the outstanding one we've stayed in. Bardsea is a great location for all of the Furness peninsula, and for much of the South Lakes. Windermere is about 25 minutes away, Coniston and Hawkhead nearer. The Ship Inn in the village is very welcoming. We spent most of our time walking from the village, either along the coast, over Birkrigg common or to Urswick. All the paths are well marked. Fortunately the weather was kind. We will return here again.

  On arrival we found the cottage welcoming and homely.

  We were impressed by the cleanliness and found the cottage was well equipped. We were most impressed by the size of the rooms as they were bigger than the impression we got from the photographs. The beds were clean and comfortable and the garden was a good size with plenty of seating to take advantage of the sun or shade as you choose. We have two small Chihuahuas and they could squeeze under the gate but a 'normal' size dog would be fine. Matt, the owner, lives on site and was very friendly and helpful with suggestions of places to visit I would highly recommend this accommodation and will certainly book again on my nest visit to Tintagel.
