What our customers say about their holidays

Harbourne Oast is an absolute gem nestled in the Kent countryside, with beautiful views in every direction and a gorgeous pond with 4 delightful ducks and a school of fish.
It is conveniently located near to Tenterden, which is a charming market town and there are plenty of places to visit nearby, including Camber Sands, which is only a 1/2 hr drive. From the moment we arrived our hosts made every effort to ensure we had what we needed to enjoy our stay. Everything about the facilities has been well thought through. As a family of 10 - 4 kids (ages 1-8) 4 parents and 2 grandparents - we wanted somewhere that could support differing needs. The Annexe or âGrannexeâ, was a particularly excellent feature. Allowing grandparents a haven from the noise of the kids, while being a destination of choice most mornings tor the little ones to acquire a second breakfast! Great memories have been made and will be cherished for many years to come. A few of words of caution, this is an historic house, so comes with many of the features one might expect, such as some very creaky floorboards and doors. Also, if you are taller than 5.11, watch your head on some of the low door frames! For any older guests and/or those with mobility issues, the annexe is perfect. Beautifully presented and perfectly apportioned. The main house proved a little difficult for my mother to access at first, however, Matthew swiftly constructed a wooden step to allow her to be able to join us for family meals in the fantastic kitchen and dining areas! This was hugely appreciated and indicative of the lengths to which our hosts went to ensure we were comfortable. One final note, the 9am checkout (due to COVID) is a little challenging, so would recommend packing the night before! The pictures online really donât do it justice, has it to be seen. All in all would highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time at Hazelseat!
Stunning views, incredibly quiet and tranquil and a perfect retreat from city life. The house is so spacious and everyone aged 1-60, including the dog, felt immediately at home. The bedrooms are all lovely with very comfy beds and plenty of bathrooms with good showers. We all loved the hot tub overlooking the rolling hills, playing silly card games around the dining table and a perfect house for hide and seek! The sitting rooms were so comfy for catching up on TV. The kitchen is fab and so well equipped, with complimetary box of goodies. The first challenge when we arrived was to find the cutlery drawer...it's so clever! (We found the answer in the property manual!) We drove to the indoor swimming pool/games room/shop/playground and really enjoyed having the pool to ourselves for our 45 min session. There are quite a few damp patches on the walls in the house, but it's such a large property and so full of character it didn't bother us, but needs repairing to ensure it can continue to be enjoyed in the future. You also need to take care on the drive, I can confirm it is a little uneven :) as you negotiate the turns up to this magnificent house, take it slowly! We packed so much in to our 3-night stay, hiring a boat on Windermere and walking in Grasmere, it was the perfect start to our summer break! We all loved the house

We booked to celebrate a 70th birthday within the family.
Party of 12, beautiful modern bathrooms, the bedrooms are just what you need, clean and fresh. Fully equipped kitchen for the numbers, tall fridge and under counter freezer. (Adding this as this has been a factor when we stayed elsewhere with the same numbers). The owner came and introduced herself, stating if we needed anything we can knock on her, then a lady who manages the site also showed us around, both were lovely, nothing was too big to ask. We had a leak in one of the bedrooms, and that was dealt with immediately. Then the area had an issue with a armoured cable being cut through and the power would need to go off to fix. 20 minutes before the estate manager knocked with a tray full of candles and matches for us, was really apologetic. The pool was lovely and a factor into us booking it, the tennis court was great. In the barn thereâs a childâs play area and a table tennis. Beautiful surrounding, apple tree pub 1 mile down the road. If you are looking for a nice meal out thereâs the Clive Arms, food was beautiful. Thereâs a food court behind it, which was great for a cooked breakfast and a lovely farm shop. We booked a cab with Alan, he couldnât have been more helpful if he tried! Absolute superstar. We would absolutely return, everyone was so helpful, it really made our stay perfect.

We have just returned from a week at The Park.
The property suited our needs well (6 couples). The bedrooms were comfortable with great en-suites. Not a huge amount of shelf space but overall adequate. The lounge was big enough for 12 sitting on two settees and two chairs. The kitchen was essentially well equipped with an abundance of good glassware, dishes and pots and pans. 2 dishwashers were a bonus and were well used. Lovely big table and comfortable dining chairs. Big fridge and separate freezer - both great. The oven however left a lot to be desired, took ages to cook anything and if you left food in a dish near the bottom of the over the bottom ended up burnt! The hob was no problem. We used the swimming pool once and were not enticed back. Not a welcoming building and the so pool needed some TLC!! The photos of The Park needed a description with them as there were pictures of the âhospitalityâ suite and we all thought when originally viewing the property on line that those pictures were part of the property we rented. We had a few issues that needed addressing whilst we were there and these were dealt with efficiently by the Manager Sharon. We loved the location and certainly would recommend The Park for a group of 6 couples. We enjoyed our week there very much.

The views from this house (Hazel Seat) are simply breathtaking.
I donât think I could tire of sitting at the kitchen table looking out at the changing vista - weâve had snow in mountains and deer running through the fields. But what makes this house special is whatâs inside. Iâve been to some wonderful hotels and houses in my past but this is by far the nicest most well equipped rental I have ever stayed in. It is decorated beautifully, spacious, clean. The beds are all wonderfully comfortable, there was not one moment when we ran out of hot water with all 13 adults here all week ⦠even down to the detail ⦠the matching wooden hangers in all the wardrobes, the fact that the house is for 12 people and there are actually more than 12 of everything - cups, teapots ⦠a fridge and freezer large enough for all, and it all matches. We will definitely return here again. In fact we havenât even left yet and we are already planning our stay next year. Thank you for sorting out the faulty hob so quickly, you were friendly, efficient and very quick. We are sad to be leaving but looking forward to sharing your beautiful home again soon.
