  The cottage was comfortable, clean and in a great location for a varied week of exploring the local countryside and wider Dorset area, and perfect for recovering from a busy work life.

  The cottage is well equipped, clean and is generally blissfully quiet, and the welcome pack was indeed very welcome! Re feedback, and this may well be to do with time of year - an occasional smell from the farm was detectable, but that is to be expected on a working farm. Within the cottage, if one was to be somewhat picky, I thought the two sofas could do with being renewed, the bathroom extractor fan was not working during our visit, and I missed having a larger frying pan to cook with than those provided. I like the fact that the cottage was pet friendly, though we did not have one with us. I also thought the walk from the cottage to Evershot could be mapped out and provided to guests, as it took us a while to work it out and several others commented in the guest book that they were defeated. The walks from the cottage to Evershot and Halstock were lovely, and from the cottage we drove easily to Bridport, Cerne Abbas, Sherborne, Dorchester, West Bay, Lulworth Cove, Tyneham and Studland beach, taking in a variety of 5-9 mile walks, museums, parks, sites and beaches. All totally worth a visit! All in all a very lovely week was had. Thank you.

  The spacious apartment is just a few steps from the beach and offers a well-equipped kitchen. It’s perfect for those who enjoy cooking their own meals. The bright windows facing the sea provide sunshine during breakfast (weather permitting). During peak season, it can be quite lively outside the apartment, even late at night. The bedroom is at the back, but unfortunately, you can hear a ventilation system when the window is open. Light sleepers might find this disturbing. We kept the bedroom window closed at night and ventilated through the living room. The apartment is ideally located for long walks, with everything you need within walking distance. You can enjoy the smart TV in the living room or the smaller TV in the bedroom. The bathroom is spacious and well-equipped with both a shower and a bathtub. Overall, the apartment is in good condition, though you can see signs of wear from previous guests. The washer-dryer and dishwasher are very convenient, although the dishwasher’s drying function was broken during our stay and couldn’t be fixed. It still washed well, and drying by hand wasn’t a big issue. We would love to come back.

  A very good location for this quirky cottage, right in the centre of the small town and easy to get to all the local attractions. Parking is on the street and while occasionally we couldn't park right outside, generally we had no problems with this. The cottage was well-equipped, the kitchen had everything needed for a week's stay and the shower was very good. A large and comfy bed as well. The stairs are very narrow and difficult to negotiate for anyone with mobility issues. However it is in need of some TLC throughout, as while the place was clean, it looks tired and would benefit from some fresh paint and updating on some of the fixtures like blinds. The garden is particularly bad and looked like it had not been touched all summer. It was so overgrown with weeds that it made it unusable during our stay which was disappointing as we booked this based on the photos so our dog could go outside into the enclosed garden. The front outside area was also full of weeds and with all the bins there does not give a good first impression.

  This was our second stay this year at this quality apartment. It’s well equipped, ideally situated with excellent views of the beach, close to all amenities and has permit car parking. What’s not to like? Well.......there is some noise from the patrons outside the restaurant downstairs and at weekends live music in the evenings, which we could hear, but it was acceptable. However on the last weekend of our stay (11th and 12th October) it moved into full nightclub mode including some kind of “boombox” sound system obviously located just below the floor of the apartment. From around 8:30 to 11:30 the noise and vibration was tremendous, shaking the floor and windows. When it finally subsided the sounds of clearing up continued into the early hours. Not the best night’s sleep prior to having to vacate the apartment by 9:00am Sunday morning. I’m afraid, this time, we will not be back, unless something is done about the nightclub noise.

  Good property to rent.

  The positioning is good, as long as you can cope with the small narrow deep lanes that lead to the farm, it is situated on. We took it slowly and had no issues. These old farm lanes were not built to accommodate 2 vehicles side by side, so you need to take care while driving. Do not expect the locals to slow down, they are used to these lanes and know where the passing places are. The entrance is also quite narrow, as the farm buildings were not built to accommodate large vehicles when built several hundred years ago. We had our Mercedes GLC and that was fine, so medium size vehicles are no problem. Sleeping accommodation downstairs, living up top. Quiet location, once back on the A37, you have easy access to Dorset. Local pub in Evershot very good but not cheap to eat there. Easy access to Yeovil, or to Dorset for shopping. Supermarkets in both. We had a good week and I would recommend this property.
