  A lovely old cottage, perfect for walkers. Close to footpaths to Swanage and Durlston, an excellent local shop, Indian restaurant and a fish & chip shop. Bus stop only 5 mins walk away. The cottage has a tiny courtyard garden which is pleasant to sit in, although is shady for much of the day. Definitely not for less mobile people - the steep, narrow, curving staircase is a challenge. Beware the low beam at the entrance of the stairs - it caught me out twice! The lounge is very dark - lights needed switching on during daylight hours. I imagine it would be cosy in the winter - the logburner would soon warm the place up. The main bedroom is large and light. Comfortable bed and plenty of storage. The single bedroom is cosy. The bathroom has a bath with handheld shower - this is fine however there is no shower curtain so we found it easier to sit in the bath to hair wash. It's a good 20-25 mins walk into the town and the beach - a little longer on the return as there are some uphill slopes. Overall, it is an ideal and comfortable place to stay, especially for people who enjoy walking.

  Wow. We were impressed from the moment we saw this little hut. It is exactly as advertised but also has lots of hidden details that make the stay so much nicer. The hut itself, the quality of the finishings, the beautiful peaceful setting, the amazing heating, and the absolutely appreciated flowers and scones with jam and cream, this was a wonderful little, last minute break.We knew we would need to drive places and we planned ahead. With day trips to Lyme Regis and Bath. Multiple supermarkets were not that far away and we stocked up on what we needed. We didn't venture to the village pub but it did look lovely.We absolutely would recommend and we are already looking forward to returning. Thank you so much for accommodating such a last minute booking. We were blown away by the hut and the level of service.

  Thank you so much for the most welcoming, gorgeous stay in your lovely Shepherds Hut. My boyfriend Kieran booked us this stay to celebrate my recent birthday and wow it looked absolutely amazing in photos but even more wonderful in person!! You have done everything up to a such high standard and i now want to copy your design at home! The outdoor bath is incredible - i have never ever felt more relaxed. This is the break that we needed as like you, having young children can be very tiring! The finishing touches like the marshmallows and bubble bath were such nice surprises, you really have thought of everything! We cant wait to come back again soon. We will really miss it here and Snowflake the horse (sorry if thats not actually his name)! Thank you again.

  The location of the property is really good.

  Unfortunately the neighbour opposite on frequent occasions had very load music playing early and late at night. We did speak to them about this and it was turned down Both gardens need a great deal of attention. The back garden is very overgrown and not pleasant to sit in. Also the levels of the garden are so uneven and a trip hazard. The accommodation was fine and the bedding was very good. One of the base cushions on the sofa moved and we noticed there was a lot of crumbs and dust collected which hadn't been cleaned. One more thing we felt that the mats on the steps to the front door were dangerous.

  Our biggest issue was the old sofa in lounge. The sofa has zero support, no comfort and gave both of us back pain if we dared use it. Feedback on sofa was passed on but to add insult to our injuries, only some measly and ineffective cushions were provided. The unusable sofa meant we couldn't use the lounge as intended and this pretty much ruined our holiday :( Despite being a 25-minute walk into town we found the location to be OK (as we are both keen hikers).
