  The Granary was tucked away through the grounds of a private school, as it was the summer holidays it was very quiet. The location is inland however that suited us as we always book a cottage to use as a base to be able to travel to both beaches and other locations inland for days out. It was only 25 minutes to 50 minutes car ride away from many beach locations, including Gorleston on Sea and Winterton on Sea. We also visited Africa Live and Carlton Marshes. Richard and family were very friendly and welcoming. They provided tea, coffee, milk and biscuits on arrival. They also provided some feed for the goats which our boys loved, visiting and feeding them each day. The cottage was spotless when we arrived, very clean, and smelt fresh. The cottage itself uses the space really well. Its well stocked, the kitchen was spacious and had a washing machine and a tall standing fridge freezer which was really useful! There were a few games provided and a pack with plenty of information on walks in the area, and things to see and do. The only thing that I had to put up with for the week was the bathroom (being 5ft 11) when you shower you have to stand very close to the unit itself as the roof is slopped, otherwise you cannot stand straight, and also the same with the toilet. That was only a very minor inconvenience however. The cottage is in the grounds of a working farm so you do have to bear that in mind. We would definitely return!

  We were warmly greeted by our lovely hosts Ron and Glen even though it was quite late when we arrived.

  They live next door and looked out for us arriving. We were given a tour of the 4 bedroomed property which was very clean, spacious and warm and didn't take us long to settle in. The garden was perfect for our 2 dogs and well secured. Only one improvement I'd recommend is in the single room next to the living room which would probably be better suited with a small double bed as ample room for one. It was the perfect base for us, we walked to the Menai Bridge, visited Bangor Pier and the stunning Aber falls, popped over to Llandwyn in Angelsey and walked to the lighthouse, visited Llandudno's Pier and shopping centre which is huge. The weather on the whole was great. Lots of pubs and restaurants are dog friendly and even bring a bowl of water over for them. We visited the Bridge Inn, Antelope Inn, The Castle, Tap and Spile (but now got a new name) with a chippy attached, the cafe on Bangor Pier and The Skerries. We would highly recommend this lovely house and great for visiting the many nearby attractions. Thank you for having us.

  Trill is an absolutely beautiful house set in beautiful rolling countryside.

  Beer and Lyme Regis are a few minutes away in a car and the local pub is friendly. Basics were to be found at the local garage, either a five minute drive or a highly recommended and beautiful walk away. There are a few bit that could be better but overall it was a beautiful base for a lovely holiday. Some of the furniture was broken (although usable) and the lack of usable Wi-Fi made itself felt with two teenagers in the house. The road in is pretty awful too, but take it slowly and watch out for the potholes and you’ll be fine. Don’t let this put you off though, being a bit off the beaten track puts you right in heart of the countryside. The local wildlife was a constant joy, with red deer, birds of prey and a menagerie of other species all making an appearance in the beautiful grounds. For eating out River cottage is just around the corner (if you haven’t been, go, it’s incredible) and the local pub serves good honest food too. Faultless? No but the positives of Trill far outweigh any of it’s faults. Highly recommend!

  We have loved our stay in Sandpipers Cottage. It really felt like a home from home. Comfortable, clean, well-equipped and served as the perfect base for exploring beautiful North Norfolk, Highlights have included a walk from Burnham Overy Staithe to the glorious vast Holkham Beach via the saltmarshes, across sand dunes and back through the pine forest. We felt like we were going on a bear hunt! This walk was followed by a well-deserved lunch at The Hero (dogs very welcome). Another great day included a fun boat trip with John Bean boats tours to see the local seals hanging around Blakeney Point, followed by a walk around beautiful Holkham Park with its abundance of deer and lovely woodland play area - a big hit with the kids - finishing the day with fish and chips from Eric's. We also enjoyed a perfect lunch at Socius in Burnham Market - the food is delicious - and a few drinks at the local pub, The Ostrich. We hope to come back again soon, as we have lots more stil to explore.

  We've enjoyed a lovely week here in Norfolk. We have used Sandpiper Cottage as a very homely and comfortable base for our first holiday in Norfolk. We have a 6.5 and 4.6 year olds and if you are looking for reccos we suggest the following: 1. Seal trip boat ride from Morston Quay 2. Crabbing / crab fishing at Blakeney - high tide 3. Beach day at Cromer - low tide 4. Steam train ride from Holt to Sheringham - out at Camellia Cottage for lunch 5. Holt has a great selection of shops, cafes and restaurants. Eric's fish and chips are some of the best we've had. 6. Two restaurant / food reccos: Sculthorpe Mill and Fat Cow (Fakenham). Two very different experiences but both brilliant for different reasons. Check them out online. Enjoy your stay! It is a nice microclimate here so pack for sun and rain!
