What our customers say about their holidays
Lindsay - Verified booking
Perfect touring base, quiet location, unobtrusive, very hospitable hosts.
From before our holiday began, Jill and the family were the perfect hosts who offer a delightful manner, have time to chat and are keen to help from the very outset to ensure you settle in well from the start of your holiday. Their ten years of experience running the business as a very cohesive team is clearly evident. We spent many relaxing hours sat on the very peaceful, sun drenched terrace and found Cedar Lodge to be furnished to a good standard, it was very clean and well equipped. The washing machine, fridge, clothes dryer and dishwasher looked very new as did the pans, cutlery and crockery. There always was plenty of hot water for showers and washing up etc. The crisp cotton sheets on our comfortable beds gave all our party a restful night and there was more than enough supplies and quality thick clean towel stocks in the laundry store. Having contacted the team beforehand, we arrived expecting only three not four cream teas on arrival os one of our adult party members is Coeliac gluten intolerant. We were delighted to find a fourth Coeliac scone waiting on our arrival, a very thoughtful touch we thought â¦â¦ and paired with clotted cream and locally made preserve we felt at home straight away ! Our concerns re supporting my Mums limited mobility was easily accommodated as was our request for a zip link adaptation for the second bedroom. Jill was very quick to offer her personal attention in advance to be available when we arrived to help relocate the wardrobe in their bedroom if more room was requiredâ¦.what more could we ask for? Following a locals recommendation, we really enjoyed a meal on our second Tuesday night listening to the âBoscastle Buoysâ sea shanty evening at The Napoleon Inn in Boscastle and the Camel Trail Tea room was very enjoyable indeed. We marvelled and returned to all three of St Agnes beaches fora paddle and swim, especially (Chapel Porth) bay with its âHedgehogâ ice Cream treat. East and West Portholland beaches were the Cornwall that I came looking for, Fowey was a delight on every level (from Hanson Road viewpoint over the bay to the gentle stroll from Caffa Mill to the Fowey Rook). Other highlights were; Our walk around Padstow harbour that was a true delight as was the Helford River Boat trip, the Charlestown harbour, our walk to Tavern Beach at St Mawes, and the Rest A While Tea Garden at Hawke Cove (no parking nearby) was a very, very special experience.

Spotlessly clean, and really comfortable stay!
We would definitely stay again. As per the last review, there was a sea view that was not mentioned, which was a lovely surprise and that we enjoyed in evening with a glass of wine! The Lodge itself seems to have had some new additions from the pictures on the website when we originally booked. Very comfortable, the new owners have clearly spent some time and effort with new blinds, bedding etcâ¦.. bathroom has been re vamped since the last pictures which again was a nice surprise. The kitchen is very well equipped, with more than just four of everything!!! Location is great, really easy to walk into village for food, supermarket and pub. We missed the opening of the new pub on-site , but looking forward to visiting when we return. You can even get the bus into Bude. We loved Sandymouth Beach , which is less than a ten minute drive and has a lovely café overlooking the bay. It is also dog friendly all year round with no restrictions! Overall, we loved the lodge, loved the area, brilliant value for money and we will be back!

Short concrete path leads directly from car park to the property.
I have had back trouble in the past so really appreciated the orthopaedic mattress - so much so that I have taken its details and have ordered one for mysellf, The owners obviously take pride in providing everything a guest could wish for. Cupboards/drawers full of books, games videos etc for if weather is bad (luckily we didnât need them). Every conceivable kitchen implement was there including Tupperware boxes to make a picnic if desired. Towels were the softest we have ever felt and smelt like summer - name of fabric conditioner please. Cottage very clean with enough cloths and comprehensive cleaning materials to clean a medium sized hotel. All we needed to bring on holiday were our clothes and toiletries- everything else was well provided for. Well located near Bude and beaches. Comfortable stay for two people using second bedroom as storage for suitcases etc. Might be a bit snug for family if four. All in all would book this dog friendly cottage in future

In general number 24 is a lovely place to stay and would love to come back.
Itâs a great place to stay being so close to bude and having a coop and pub in short walking distance. The property itself could do with a thorough cleaning as it was a bit grubby in places but with high traffic properties itâs almost to be expected but with a little hunting I found a hoover and a mop and some cleaning supplies, we did find someone elseâs headphones presumably from the last person who stayed down the back of the sofa. The cherry on the cake was the unexpected sea view to have your morning coffee with which was very special. Advertised on the listing was a swimming pool and bar but we got an email the week before to say this was not available anymore so just something to be aware of however, this didnât ruin our visit. We would definitely stop here again as we did shed a tear as we left, thank you x

It was easy to find from the instructions given, it was a lovely little place and we enjoyed our stay.
There were a few bits like air freshener plugs and a strip of lights on the floor. There was also some building work going on, on the site but this did not impact us as the noise was pretty minimal. The toilet roll holder was loose so could do with fixing, and would have been good to have a sieve to drain pasta. The shower was really nice, beds were comfortable and well furnished. The kitchen was well furnished but with all the extra decor made it difficult to store food but after we moved a few bits around we had some space. I would stay here again it is a lovely home away from home and very close to lots of things to do it's a shame that we were not staying for longer as we didn't get time to do everything.
