What our customers say about their holidays

It has taken an age to write this, apologies.
I was fortunate to spend a few days in this lovely cabin, the decor for me was fabulous and the amenities were fine too, note: no oven, but a double gas hob and an air fryer. The kitchen has everything, you want boiled eggs, there's egg cups on the shelf, you want to pour milk from a jug, you have a choice of jugs, the plates, cups; soup cups, I was in absolute awe. The place is small and was enough for myself and children. The cabin has its own little decking area outside, it could do with having a small grassy area besides it, as it gets fabulous sun in the mornings. With a 3 min drive to the nearest village, which has a chip shop, can get pricey if there's a few of you but the owner is lovely. Everyone I met was lovely the owners are on site, but we were left to our devices, the children were invited to use their garden which was nice. We got to see a few rabbits. Myself and my little one opted to sleep on the sofa bed, and I have to say, it was really comfortable, it was really firm and having a bad back, the sofa gave me life. The only downside is the reception, my phone really didn't cope well, so it became a little difficult to arrange activities from the day before and being a neuro diverse family, the down times were hard, we only managed to stay 3 out of 7 nights as it was too much for them, but I know I would definitely go back, alone if I could. There is a meter there, which take £1 coins only, I kept forgetting to get cash and when I left the petrol st machine had broken, so keep that in mind. On the whole I had a great time, a word of warning even on a warm day, it gets very cold, but there is plenty heating for such moments. It's a great little place, I feel you have to be there to see it, because it keeps giving. To date one of my favourite places to stay, and I intend to return.

I arrived on Friday for a 3 night break which I was very much in need of.
The property was small but well equipped and adequate for my needs, however there was a strong fusty smell as if the place needed a thorough airing/deep clean. I opened all the windows and went out in search of a shop where I could buy matches to light scented candles. I found nowhere due to the isolated location and the fact that it was Good Friday. I went back thinking I would get used to it. I was unable to relax and could not get the television to work (fortunately there were some old dvds). I rang the owners but couldn't get through due to there being no signal, so I sent a text message. (I never got a response) I went to bed in the hard and uncomfortable bed and woke up still feeling very disapointed and ill at ease. The smell had not abaited at all. I packed my bags and went to leave as I couldn't face another 2 nights there. I saw the owners as I left, they apologised and said that maybe I was very sensitive to smells!!! I didn't want to make a fuss, I just wanted to get home. I today contacted Sykes who got in touch with the owners, who have denied the refund for the 2 nights that I did not stay there. I think this was a fair request having spent an unsatisfactory first night and having travelled almost 80 miles to get there, and hoped that common decency would prevail. Sykes have said there is nothing more that I can do. So I am over £300 out of pocket and have an unsatisfactory 1 night stay to show for it. To say the customer service from both parties has been poor is un understatement!

The wife and I spent a week in The Cabin during a sunny week during June â23.
Walking through the door led into a very spacious kitchen/dining/lounge area. Plenty of kitchen equipment to use during the week including a toaster that actually toasts both sides of the bread at the same time. 2 comfy 3 seater settees plus another settee that I presume makes up a secondary bed. We found plenty of heaters in various places but non needed this particular week, but there was a fan for cooling. Big tv on the corner with a dvd player under. Plenty dvdâs, as well as books and games as a tv alternative. The bedroom and en-suite shower room were both clean and tidy. Couple of wardrobes and bedside tables gave plenty of storage for a week. Beds are something of personal comfort, we found it to our liking and had good sleeps. The shower, subject to some adverse comments on here, performed really well. When tap turned full the spray was very powerfully. There is a notice to not turn the shower tap too much âonâ so to get enough hot water for a shower. We did that and didnât encounter a problem getting a hot shower. No problem. We enjoyed sitting on the veranda overlooking the garden, we enjoyed sitting in the âsecret gardenâ out through the patio door. And we definitely enjoyed the company of the resident chickens, though I think their company would be optional. The hosts, Jane and Richard, are very friendly but definitely not overly so. We definitely enjoyed our stay in The Cabin.

Perfect accommodation for a solo person working in the area.
On site parking and the Keysafe entry to the studio allowed total freedom to come and go at any time. I was welcomed by host Valerie on arrival and entered a delightful space where delicious fruit cake was waiting on the table, an ideal accompaniment to red wine which, fortunately, I had in my case :) The first chilly evenings of autumn had arrived but the electric heaters soon filled the studio with an enveloping warmth. The sitting area was cosy, the bed comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. The bathroom with its pleasingly hot electric shower was a little cramped but served its purpose. The Wi-Fi worked well and there were an adequate number of 13 amp sockets for charging phones and laptops. There was not an opportunity to sit in the garden beside the large pond but it would have been idyllic on a warm evening. I was given some home grown apples when I left which are now deep inside several apple crumbles. Thank you for making this reasonably priced, peaceful accommodation available.

We had a great week at this lovely cabin.
The owners were very friendly and helpful and we found everything we needed in the cabin. Iâm surprised to read the previous negative review as we were very happy with our stay. There were three of us, with one older child sleeping on the sofa bed. She had no issues with this and found it comfortable. We were all able to take a shower as normal, the pressure was fine and leaving a short gap between guests having a shower solved the issue of continued hot water. The bed and sofas were perfectly comfortable (recliner sofas were nice to use at the end of a busy day). There were lots of utensils and the owners provided milk, tea and coffee - the free roaming chickens were great and eggs were left for us. There is not an oven as such but we were able to use the hob and use the microwave oven and grill to cook when we needed to. The cabin was very clean and nicely decorated. We would definitely return to this peaceful area and property and would recommend to others.
