What our customers say about their holidays
Maggie - Verified booking
The property was in a beautiful location with lovely views.
It was just marred by a few things. The lack of maintenance was one. The curtain rail in the living room was hanging off, the shower door had dropped making it very difficult to open and close and the extractor fan in the bathroom didnât work. The property could do with a good clean and decorating, it is quite rundown. Our main gripe was that in the email it mentioned that the water supply was not mains but fed from the lake. I telephoned the number in the book to ask about drinking the water. Left a message as requested but no one ever got back to me. As a consequence we had to buy water for drinking as we didnât want to be ill whilst away. If you are going to make a statement about the water supply then please advise whether it has been adequately treated for safe drinking. It only needs a little thought to save a lot of bother. I hope the comments will be considered and acted upon. We did however enjoy our holiday despite these problems but would be very wary of booking with you again.

The living room was very dark after daylight.
The double mattress was lumpy & generally uncomfortable, & one of the storage heaters failed to store heat so would only work on the booster. Whilst we reported this latter on Sunday, by the time we left on Friday no-one had been to review or fix it. We arrived with the bulb in the main room lamp not working so we bought a new one & replaced it. The hair-dryer was also missing but you rectified this within 24 hours. The cot provided did not have a bassinet level so we needed to bring our own travel cot. On the positive side, the wi-fi worked well (a good thing as there was no mobile reception), there was never any shortage of hot water, the wood-burning stove was highly effective, the pool was a good size & well maintained & all was very quiet & peaceful.

We have been to these cottages many times and the standard has always been first class.
However on this visit the outside presentation of the cottages was poor especially the paintwork. The inside of Newlands was in poor condition eg the paintwork was peeling and dirty. The carpets were need of cleaning. There were cup ring marks on the window sills, cob webs in the bedroom and the toilets seats were scratched. There were no complimentary bath products as there has been in the past. It is sad we have to make these remarks but the reason we book with you is because of your previous high standards. We think you should know that our expectations were not met on this occasion and you should know how we feel so you can rectify your standards. Many thanks from Richard Hart and Emma Brigham

Skyfall is a beautiful holiday home, stylishly furnished.
The kitchen was fully equipped and easy to use. We had a few things that could be improved, there was no fan and the flat has no ventilation, it was 29 degrees when we were there and the heat in the apartment was unbearable. I would have expected body wash and shampoo to be provided as you would expect at any stay. Extra towels were not provided even though we were there for 7 days so we had to wash our towels. There was no extra toilet paper provided so we ended up buying some more. It said dog treats were provided but the jar was empty when we got there. Over all, beautiful apartment, things I wouldnât even think of were provided such as dvds and cdâs however lacked the basics.

The accommodation was as described, basic but comfortable with everything we needed.
I was a little worried when I saw the electric heating but it worked really well and it was soon warm even in the very cold weather we had during our stay. Our granddaughter measured the distance from the accommodation to the pub as 22 steps. The pub served good beer but we did not sample the food which was available every day from 9am to 9pm. It was open every day till 11pm which is not always the case these days. The staff and customers in the pub were very friendly and we enjoyed spending New Yearâs Eve with them. We had a lovely stay but take into account you are a long way from towns and supermarkets if you decide to visit. John
