  I would like to get in touch with the ACTUAL OWNER of this property. Whilst we’ve been here many times in the past through Sykes cottages and not only was the cottage itself excellent in location and facilities the service that we got from Mike and Liz who own the cottage was excellent. Whilst the cottage has still got the same charm with location and amenities Host And Stay are sadly letting this owner down, with regards to cleanliness and maintenance, we are three days in and still our issues haven’t been resolved; extremely dirty- food inside the sofas’ dirty cooker top food left inside and sticky pans in the oven sticky worktops and fruit under the main bed - which shows it clearly hasn’t been cleaned Plus - remote control missing from one of the televisions Faulty flashing lights in the sitting room Fully flashing lights in the rear outside porch Broken toilet roll holder hanging out the wall displaying plugs Light above the bathroom basin doesn’t work- amongst other things. I’ve reached out to Host And Stay on the first day and was told somebody would come at 9 o’clock the next day I phoned them at 11 o’clock to see what was happening, they said they’d call me back within 20 minutes - two hours later no one called or arrived so we went out. At 9 o’clock this morning no one arrived or called as promised again! Day3 yet still no one arrived. I spoke to Host And Stay several times this morning. Charlene repeatedly kept putting the phone down on me in a very rude fashion!! IF I was the owner of this property I would like to know about the bad service that I am paying for !!?? You have a beautiful place, but unfortunately your Service team are letting you down badly . I’d love to come back again. I hope that you decide to rent your property through a more appropriate concerned letting agency. If you’d like to reach out to me that would be great. Please let me know and I’ll be happy to talk to you. I have asked for your details but sadly they say they cannot pass on your information but you’ll never know unless somebody puts it down - so this is my review. Photos available

  The location is fabulous, the apartment is very clean and the property has everything you need for a comfortable stay.

  An extra set of keys would be handy, so that if you are staying with another person but you aren't going to be together all of the time then you don't have to leave doors unlocked so one person can go out and take the one set of keys and put them in and out of the key safe numerous times per day. My only criticism - and this is clearly not the fault of the property owner, is that the person in the apartment above kept me awake all week. Obviously if he is another holiday maker I was just unlucky, but if he is a permanent resident it may need looking into if it affects any other guests. As the building is old, the floors above creak and it sounds like there are no carpets in that apartment. He was constantly walking around, very heavily footed at all hours of the day, all through the night and into the early hours (we actually wondered when he manages to sleep!!). So although I enjoyed my stay and loved sitting in that window gazing at the sea, I was somewhat sleep deprived. Again, I know this isn't the fault of the owner but I only think it's fair to make both the owner aware of this and any other guests who aren't heavy sleepers that this could potentially be a problem.

  The view is exceptional except the windows in the apartment were filthy. Very good location next to beach .very quiet area First thing we had to do on arrival is to clean the cooker and splashback which was very greasy and smelled. The sealant around the kitchen sink had black mould on it which is very unhealthy, Half of the crockery was chipped. Apartment relatively clean but needed attention to detail. The living room furniture shows sign of wear and was uncomfortable and in need of a clean.The Blinds in the bedroom which faces the rising sun, are white and thin and not much use , there is a curtain which divides the room but it doesn't stop the early morning light. The toilet seat was loose and why do they have a bath that is more like a horse trough and very difficult to climb in or out of. This was our second visit to this apartment. Loved it first time. Wouldn't go again as I do not believe the apartment is up to the standard for the price

  Not Being a dog owner We’d normally avoid places that accommodated dogs.

  But this apartment was recommended by a colleague at a time I when needed a few days break from being a key worker as I’ve had very little time to relax over past 2 years..... I was not disappointed. Very spacious property. Lovely soft bedding and towels. The place was spotlessly clean. The owners have thought of all personal touches. Also greeted with lovely little treat. They provided every thing I needed for self catering. Perfect location, view, and relaxing sound from the sea. Being very sensitive to sound and smells I was concerned about doggy smells. But the place was so well cleaned it wasn’t a problem. But the over use of air fresheners was. I had hide them away as they gave me headache. And thing is if the place smelled believe me I would have smelled it mixed in the air fresheners. It was absolutely spotless. Highly recommend this place.

  We had such a fabulous stay in this apartment.

  Obviously, the view adds splendour, but don’t let that take away from the comfort and facilities - the only thing it needs is a mop for the kitchen floor, but that’s just me being picky. We absolutely loved spending time sitting in the bay window, watching the sea and the world and their dogs pass us by. We heard the person above us quite a few times, but it didn’t bother us one bit. Our dog, Blue, has had the best time ever, and I think he’s wondering where the beach went. We loved this place so much that we’ve booked again for October - something we’ve never done before. I’ve recommended the apartment to around 5 different people, and I know of 3 that are definitely going to book.
