The property was beautiful and set in stunning surroundings, the views from the windows over the loch and countryside were amazing.
The addition of the binoculars were a lovely addition. On arrival there was an awful lot of dead wood lice in the property but a quick hoover round soon dispensed with them. It was lovely and warm, with plenty of seating so everyone was comfortable. The dinning room large enough and the circular table was fabulous. The kitchen was really well equipped and always lovely to have a dishwasher and washing machine. The children and dogs enjoyed the garden and the table tennis was fun. Plenty of games for the children to play inside when it rained. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable and the bathrooms lovely. We did have one small issue, the owner was there straight away on the end of the phone trying to help solve the problem which we really appreciated. The barbeque hut was also a treat. All in all we had a fabulous stay, plenty of amazing walks and I would have no hesitation in recommending the property to other large groups / families. Thank you for a fabulous stay, its a great home from home.

House is really comfy, and spacious, the photos don't do it justice! Very warm, didn't use the log burner as were toasty just with the heating. All beds and showers were great. Plenty of utensils and crockery to cater for the family. Only slight drawback for us was the back garden wasn't enclosed as per the listing, not a problem as we just went out with the dogs on extending leads, might be an issue for some. Didn't use the BBQ Hut, although looks fab. Very very quiet with great views wherever you looked, we arrived the day before a storm, sitting in the living room looking across the loch was lovely. You're about a 15 minute drive from Dumfries for Supermarkets etc. although I believe you can get a delivery. All in, thoroughly enjoyed and would definitely stay here again. 100% recommend

Just returned from knockendoch.
What a wonderful place to stay,fantastic views over looking kinder loch.Its everything as advertised,if not more ! Plenty of space for everyone, very well equipped,the owners seem to have thought of everything.Comfortable beds with nice linen.Great games room in the garage for both adults and children.The BBQ hut was a great addition.Good walks from the house,lovely Sandyhills beach about 15 minutes drive but worth a visit.Bainloch deer park worth dropping in for a coffee as you can see the deers from the cafe.Last but not least The Steamboat inn 8 minutes away from the house as good food and lovely friendly staff.Hopefully we will be back.Regards Chris and all the family

The property is lovely and in a beautiful setting.
It could do with a refurb in some areas particularly that bathroom as the floor is damaged with dampness. We ha no hot water on 2nd day but owner was very quick to help and sort this. The detail of road (non metallic) is very misleading as any decent car would be severely damaged on this road leading to the lodge. Area is beautiful and people are lovely, however itâs very remote. More detail on this would be helpful for people to make an informed choice on whether to visit. Price was high for standard of accommodation.

Fantastic house with perfect layout to enjoy amazing views.
Very spacious, extremely comfortable and quality equipped kitchen. Everything you need and many extras provided. Very dog friendly, lovely big garden and short walk along the lane takes you woods with good footpaths. Also 10 minute drive to Mabie woods. Nearby Sandyhills beach, the RSPB Mersehead and Bainloch deer sanctuary are a must for a visit and a bit further afield but also a great visit is the Devils Porridge museum. Lockharts Farm and The Ship for drinkies and eating out. All in all brilliant so thankyou!
