What our customers say about their holidays
Ray - Verified booking
The instructions for access were clear and unloading was easy but via 8 steps.
However it should be noted that the drive is on quite a steep slope which might be a problem for some individuals. The house was in a quiet neighbourhood (late June) with little or no disturbance despite the nearby railway and main road. There were good views of the nearby hills, the river and the castle from the front bedroom and the decked area adjacent to the front door. The double bed was soft but tolerable with our own toppers. We did not use the single bed so cannot comment. There is no gas in the property and the heating, hot water and the shower were electric. We did not use the heating so cannot comment. The hot water is from a hot water tank with an immersion heater and was very good. The shower was also perfectly adequate with a reasonable flow. The towels were a bit small compared to other properties we have used and we did not find an information folder with instructions for appliances etc. There was some information on local attractions. The TV was good with both Netflix and Amazon Prime included. We thought Deganwy was an excellent location for visiting the area. There was a fish and chip shop 1-2 minutes on the main road to Llanduno Junction. At Llanduno jumction there were supermarkets and access to the NorthWales Expressway. There is an M&S at Llanduno but parking costs £2.50 per hour. Lots to do in the area and we would return to the area and the property in the future it we have time.

A lovely cottage in a nice little village.
Not far from Abergele for a drive. Just a couple of pointers- there are 2 pubs by the cottage, one that does not do food. The other that does is not dog friendly. Usually we donât mind the drive out, but we were lucky enough to have snow whilst we were there so weâre limited in where to go. Would have been handy to know they were not dog friendly before we left so we could plan ahead. The cottage itself is lovely, cosy and clean. Had washing machine but no way to dry clothes in winter months. Would benefit from tv in bedroom and extra towels as 2 for 2 people for a 4 day stay is not enough when you canât get them washed and dried in a day! The utility was also full of flies on arrival for some reason? Something for the caretaker to look into perhaps! Would recommend âthe old stagâ for food. Staff so welcoming. Very dog friendly! And the food was top notch! Just a shame for the snow otherwise we would have visit there a couple of times during our stay instead of cooking from the cottage. Also recommend âthe harpâ in Abergele. Once again so dog friendly! We only managed to get there on the last day so canât comment on the food, but hubby said his pint of Guinness was a great pint. Went to Angel bay to see the seals too and would recommend. Iâm pregnant so limited on where i can walk but this was a nice and easy, flat stroll. All in all a great stay!

A nice little house in a good location.
Our welcome pack was thoughtful and appreciated, thank you. On first entering the house appeared clean. Unfortunately some aspects were not up to the standard we expected. The white curtains in lounge are very dirty. We moved the armchair to fit a dog bed in, the floor behind and under the furniture had not been swept, revealing bits of old food and small dog toys, (these were left in the house). The shower head has black mould on it. The bathroom fan is filthy. The back patio was dirty with dog poo and litter. I had to clean this up before I could allow my dogs outside. Not a very nice welcome. Stripping the bed down on leaving revealed a stained mattress protector and rubbish under the bed. I have photos of the curtains, shower head, fan, stained bedding and under bed. The sofa has been well used and you sink right into the left seat. Sofa also needs a good clean. The rear outside light does not work. The focal center of the lounge is a very large clock. Unfortunately this was not working either. The literature in the house says a spare set of keys are in the cutlery drawer. They were not there so we had to separate the keys on the keyring in order to be able to open both doors. It is such a shame that these little matters could not have been better managed as this could be a fabulous place to stay.

Dove Cottage is beautiful.
It's cosy, comfortable and located in a beautiful little village. Locals are very welcoming and I would definitely visit again. It was home from home and my family and dog relaxed and enjoyed the whole experience. The Welcome pack was a very thoughtful and lovely gift to receive. The log burner kept us nice and warm on the chilly nights. The bed were very comfortable with lots of extra pillows and blankets. Kitchen had everything you needed. Parking was easy. Great privacy in the court yard. We used the bbq too which was fantastic. The only downside is only 1 pub allows dogs in and they don't serve food. The courtyard is all pebbles and our dog will only do his business on grass so we had to get up early to take him out. He also cut his paws on the slate at the river so the pebbles hurt his paws so we layed our own blankets down so he could come and sit with us outside. The cottage wasn't clean when we arrived. So I had to clean it and lastly there is a very strong smell of sewage in the living room. The plug in smellys were on when we got there but these effect my husbands headaches so I turned them off and we got this strong smell off sewage. Other than that the cottage was beautifully decorated and a perfect location for us to explore North wales.

A beautiful, cosy and welcoming cottage, perfectly placed for a short break exploring North Wales.
We enjoyed coastal, countryside and mountain walks with the dog. The books in the cottage were very good. We enjoyed some of the family games too. The cottage was warm with ambient lighting, which was lovely to return to. A welcome basket with tea & coffee etc was great as were the Welsh Cakes. Washing up liquid/cloths, tea towels etc soap and lovely fluffy towels were all provided. The utility porch was great for the dog and as a boot room. The cottage had almost everything we needed - no hairdryer, bread knife, kitchen scissors, chopping board - which was unusual given the vast range cooker and excellent pans/cooking dishes etc. Super comfortable beds, made up on arrival and plenty of spare pillows - only 2 soft pillows though - the others were too firm. Plentiful hot water, although the water pressure could be a little temperamental. Logs for the stove and matches provided, although we didnât need it as the heating was excellent. The flame effect stove was cosy. A lovely, friendly village to explore. The Black Lion pub was superb! The local bus passes right past the cottage, so easy to explore locally without taking the car. We would definitely stay longer next time!
