What our customers say about their holidays

We had a lovely stay at the cottage.
We've stayed in cottages before where we have had to take all essentials with us so we turned up with our own towels, dog bowls & bed, washing up liquid, tin foil etc to find most of it (not washing powder/tin foil/cling film) was provided for us which was a lovely surprise. The kitchen is clean and airy, there's dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer and all the utensils & cooking apparatus we needed. A lovely gift basket was left for us with treats for us and our dog which were very much appreciated. The living space is large enough for a family of 5 and the bedrooms are light and airy. There's an additional lounge upstairs for any teenagers who may want private time or to use as a playroom for smaller ones. There is a downstairs bedroom and the only bathroom/toilet is downstairs making this easily accessible for someone with mobility concerns. Parking is outside the front door which is also great! The garden was well kept but isn't fully enclosed with access down onto a small pebbly/sandy strip on the firth. You can walk along for about 10 minutes but we didn't explore further out onto the flats as it looked muddy and we didn't want to risk getting stuck. The location is great for peace and quiet but there are no amenities in Jemimaville. Cromarty is probably the closest village and it has a lovely beach and playing field, a shop, bakery and some gift shops. Would highly recommend the pottery. A short drive takes you to Rosemarkie and Fortrose and it doesn't take long to get down to Inverness or Nairn or in the other direction explore further north in Invergordon. Mairi our host is local and available as and when needed (not that we needed her) and was very helpful when we arrived and left. We look forward to staying again

This house is absolutely amazing.
We could not fault it in anyway. Well maintained and done to a high standard, spotlessly clean. We stayed for 2 weeks and loved every minute of it. It felt like home form home. Were were only a couple so spoilt for choice on which room to have. Comfy beds with 5 large double bedrooms. The house is in a really good spot with lots of amazing views and it's about 6 mins form the nearest super store in Dingwall. We spent a log time watching the world go by out the window. Our last day there was even some snow on the hills in the distance. Take some Binoculars with you. The welcome biscuits were really a nice thought and there was Tea, Coffee and Milk as well - thankyou for that. Lovely garden bench outside - just was a wee bit cold for us to use it. If you were visiting in a large group you may find the front room a bit compact for 10 people but you could all still get in there as plenty of chairs/sofa. If we could suggest anything it would be to consider placing the TV on the wall in lounge rather than on the unit just to aid watching it. Maybe pop a TV in another room downstairs so people who were in a large groups could split up a bit. (Didn't mater for us as only a couple) I would have loved an information pack on local things and what to do etc - not everyone is good with internet and this could make it easier for those who maybe are not so technology minded. The owner text to make sure we were OK which was really nice and offered mid holiday cleaning if we wanted it. Overall if you want a fab place to stay with everything you need for a holiday break that is peaceful you won't be disappointed.

We booked for a 3 night break at Burnside - which we extended to 4 nights.
A quiet location overlooking the Cromarty Firth towards Invergordon - great views from the lounge and kitchen. Warm and cosy with everything we needed. Lovely decor with local artwork displayed throughout. A welcome basket with a bottle of Prosecco, some Cromarty Brewery beer, local cheese, oatcakes and shortbread was much appreciated. Callie our dog was also spoilt with treats and her own bed. A short drive to Cromarty and the excellent beach at Rosemarkie and the dolphins at Chanonry Point. Mairi was a great host and could not do enough to make our stay truly memorable. A great place to base yourself, explore the Black Isle and places along the Moray coast. Highly recommended and look forward to staying again in the future.

A peaceful haven Your only mistake would be to pass this beautiful cottage by.
Situated in the quiet hamlet of Jemimaville on the banks of the Cromarty Firth this lovely cottage has everything you need. The cottage is warm and cozy and perfectly situated with beautiful views across the Cromarty Firth. The Black Isle is more than full of history and if you want to venture further the Highlands are just on the doorstep. Mairi the owner is so kind and helpful, there to welcome you and onhand for ensuring your holiday runs smoothly. Recently renovated the cottage is a perfect retreat. Cromarty is a short drive away with some excellent places to eat, watch the dolphins at Rosemarkie beach or venture out on a Rib ride. A perfect break thank you Mairi.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Burnside Cottage.
The cottage is newly refurbished and has been done very thoughtfully. The new kitchen is beautiful with the most amazing views across the Cromaty Firth, as has the garden, where garden furniture is provided. Who needs the TV when you have that amazing view?! We were surprised how close we were to Cromarty as that was not mentioned in the listing. We found Cromarty to be a very interesting little town with some lovely shops and several good places to eat and drink. We also found plenty of interesting places and the most amazing scenery on the Black Isle to visit without having to drive too far. Thank you Mairi, for your friendliness and for making our holiday so special.
