  We had a fantastic week staying at the farmhouse with friends.

  The house is huge and had plenty of room for the 10 of us. On arrival the kids were amazed to see the stream and the play area and all of the garden toys and they spent many hours just playing in the garden. They also loved it when the dogs appeared! The fussball table and games room were enjoyed by all. Sally and Andrew were very welcoming and we were given lots of information about the farm and the local area and were able to roam around and go onto the farm to see the cows being milked and look at the pigs, calves, chickens and sheep. It was lovely having cows and sheep in the fields in front of the house to watch while you sat at the table having breakfast. The Sykes info told us that we needed to bring tea towels and oven gloves, which were actually provided at the house so no need to pack those in your luggage! I didn’t find a hairdryer but we had brought one along. It was great to have the washing machine and dryer to use, especially as we don’t have one at home at the moment due to building work, and they came in useful when we got caught in a downpour while doing a bit of fishing in the stream. The house is out in the peaceful Devon countryside but within easy driving distance of Sidmouth, Lyme Regis etc. With supermarkets in Sidmouth and Honiton to stock up for your stay. We had a fantastic time and definitely plan to return soon.

  Absolutely fantastic.

  This Farmhouse has everything and more,it felt as if a family were actually living there and had simply gone away for a few days and left us watching the place.anything you needed was always where you expected to find it ! Not hidden away like so many holiday lets.The Kitchen had top quality utensils and crockery and in fact was such a fantastic room we spent most of the time sat around the huge table.everywhere else was extremely clean and oozed character.with some parts of building 700 years old yet super cozy with excellent heating system.we were Greeted by the owner Andrew a friendly chap shortly after arrival and made to feel welcome and he came across once more to show us where to find a high chair we had requested but apart from that other than a wave sometimes from Him or his Wife Sally as you drove in or out of the lane we were left alone.our 3 daughters,partners and grandchildren loved exploring the farm and seeing all kinds of animals and my grandson had his dad up at 5.30 am to go and see the cows milked !The garden is secure and our dog could come and go from the house as he wanted .we can’t wait to go back again next time probably summer so we can take in more of the fantastic surroundings .   We had the BEST time staying at Hornshayne Farm.

  We was a family of 11 celebrating a birthday and we can’t recommend the place enough! The house is absolutely gorgeous and there was plenty of room to accommodate all of us. The facilities were perfect – games room, toys for the kids, plenty of bathrooms, comfy rooms – there were even spare wellies if needed! Andrew and Sally were the perfect hosts - nothing was too much trouble including letting us watch a very intense and difficult birth of a lamb. Hats off to them who do an amazing job 24/7 in all weathers. We went for lovely walks, enjoyed the games room, made the most of the large social kitchen, the kids enjoyed playing in the stream and generally we all loved being able to be all together in this charming rustic home. We was all so sad to leave but we're already planning when we can go back. Honestly - could not recommend this beautiful holiday home enough!

  This was the second time we have visited Hornshayne Farm and we had a lovely holiday.

  There are lots of things to keep the children happy and the play area is brilliant, but the bark on the ground seems to have been replaced with what I can only describe as small bits of wood.The problem is that there are very sharp bits of wood and two of the children came down the slide and scratched the back of their legs. As we had a two year old we were always worried he would fall and get spells in his hands or worse. It’s a great place to have a family holiday and the amenities are brilliant. The children loved walking around the farm and we even saw a calf being born which was really special. The children absolutely loved Maud the Spanial, when she heard our cars pulling in the drive she came straight round to the house and stayed with us until bed time, a very sweet and gentle dog.

  This cottage has such an amazing location - a hidden gem.

  The owners and their family were just the most friendliest of people and nothing was too much trouble for them. There were 10 of us and none of us have ever stayed in such wonderful accommodation. Both the adults and children felt so comfortable and our ages ranged froom 2 to 70. The indoor and outdoor space was like being in another world and we were told we could roam freely through barns and fields and see the cows being milked and the maternity unit where we met some adorable calves. The peace and quiet has been bliss, the weather perfect where you could look up and see the stars at night. The whole family has so much knowledge on it's history, the children have a smile and a wave for you every day. We can't wait to come back to this beautiful home. Thank you so much to everyone.
