  Wonderful cottage in a lovely location, hope to be back soon!

  I booked Garth End for a girls week away with friends & dogs to celebrate my birthday & I wasn't disappointed, it is one of the nicest properties I've stayed in by a long mile!!! Everything was beautifully presented, furniture & facilities were quality & it was immaculately clean. There was everything we needed for our stay ... and more!! We always take loads of dog blankets, but there was a plentiful supply, plus lovely human blankets too!! The information folder has to be one of the best thought out & really helpful & the welcome gifts were beautiful & so thoughtful, thank you Lisa! Although we were lucky with the weather, having the door leading into the utility meant it was easy to get rid of coats, boots & wipe paws. The kitchen was well equipped, no shortage of crockery, glasses, cutlery or pans. I forgot tea & coffee but there was a plentiful supply, so we didn't miss out on our morning cuppa & it was nice having the choice of eating round the island or at the dining table. Good TV, audio & wifi provision with excellent option of streaming services. The flexibility of bedroom set up meant everyone had their own bed & the bathrooms were lovely with good showers & plenty of hot water. The garden was fully enclosed, private & dog friendly ... the snowdrops were beautiful and it was lovely to see the daffs coming out. The patio furniture wasn't out (being winter) but will be a lovely area to sit out in warmer weather! Didn't get chance to try the pub as opening times were limited due to the time of year, but the menu looked really nice & everyone we met from the village had time to stop & have a chat, it was nice to witness the genuine sense of community! Having the park with its kids playground, bmx bike track and field where you can give the dogs a run was a definite bonus. Thank you Lisa for a wonderful birthday celebration in a beautiful property.

  We had a fantastic holiday , the property is done to an amazingly high standard.

  The photos do not do it justice - the kitchen and bathrooms were stunning and every comfort is covered. It is very focused on dogs , with the warm dog shower and hairdryer , the fenced in patio area and fenced paddock , and as many clean dog towels as you want! Perfect for us! Lots of lovely woods walks and 8 miles from perfect beaches! Mark and Carroll are very welcoming and always available for any queries-so friendly and helpful! The property is spotless and the bedding is a very high quality,I have very sensitive skin and bring my own sheets on holiday - but I didnt need to use them which was lovely! We will definitely be coming again next year and would highly recommend to anyone. We were over the moon with everything-and the hot tub is on from 10-10 every day so you can nip in whenever you want to! We really loved that! The only problem was we didn't want to leave!

  Wow . What an absolute find!

  Lisa has literally thought of everything. The cottage is stunning, immaculate and so well put together and stylish and garden is secure for dogs. The thought that has gone into making the dogs welcome too is so cute. There’s a basket with everything from treats to beds. The space is brilliant and everything is quality and everything works which I know should be normal but quite often isn’t the case. The other bonus is that you are literally next door to a great pub with a lovely family running it . It’s dog friendly and a great atmosphere. So in summary, you will not be disappointed. So good we’ve booked again for January 2025 Thank you , we loved it The woods, The Walkers, Freya, Elsa and Holly (the spaniels)

  My holiday stay at the kingfisher at strawberry bank was excellent, could not find fault with anything.

  The moment we arrived, my dog was overjoyed by the spacious enclosed paddock where she could run, play, and explore to her heart's content. The cottage itself was cozy with some great features and had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Being able to watch my dog enjoy herself without worrying about her getting lost was a great relief, and the peaceful surroundings made the experience even more enjoyable. Whether we were taking walks through the fields or simply lounging on the patio or hot tub, every moment was filled with relaxation. This pet-friendly cottage really exceeded my expectations.

  Our stay at Garth End was simply superb.

  The cottage is five star - and we would give it 10 if we could. The owner was kind to text ahead and tell us we could arrive earlier than the set time, and when we arrived - what a suprise! A beautifully furnished property, with every item you could possibly think of (even for our three furry friends) - and a lovely welcome pack of wine and chocolates. Lisa had even bothered to put up Christmas decorations for us. The village is lovely and the local pub right next door very welcoming. We definitely hope to return - this was the best property we have ever stayed in. Thank you Lisa and Sykes Cottages
