  What an amazing property! The barn was spacious, immaculately clean and very very comfortable. Beds were divine with pillows and bedding to match the luxury. Crockery and cutlery were abundant and enough I think to cater for the whole village! This barn is great for a multi generational get together. We spent New Year there and were able to spread out in different areas of the barn to suit each family member. The weather was absolutely atrocious so didn’t take much advantage of vast garden. It was however good to look out and watch the weather against the vineyards behind. I’m sure in nicer weather it would have been fab for al fresco dining etc. Outside games room in the bad weather was a hit with everyone and a table tennis tournament was a regular evening activity! Sam and Phil were excellent hosts. Communication prior and during our stay was brilliant. There were a couple of requests and they were “on it” immediately. They also gave us recommendations where to go! All in all a fantastic week away! Will definitely return!

  As a family group of 10, we have stayed at many Rural Retreat properties and everyone agreed that Bokes Barn was the best so far by a mile. This time we were accompanied by my 16 month old granddaughter and a dog, so a new experience for everyone. The layout of the converted farm barn was really well thought out, with the concrete beams remaining in situ as a novel feature. The provision of two dishwashers was a definite time saving benefit, as in other properties, normally only one dishwasher was provided. The outside patio area was well appointed and well used, with the outdoor games such as Boules and a large size Jenga being popular. The separate games room also proved popular for darts and pool. The owners Sam and Phil were extremely helpful, available for any question, yet not at all intrusive, in fact the ideal hosts.

  Amazing! Bokes Barn is set on a working vineyard off the beaten track. The Kent scenery and setting is beautiful. We stayed for a week with extended family in preparation for our son's wedding. The barn is bright, very clean and luxurious. The bedrooms are warm and very comfortable. The open plan living space is home from home. The mezzanine floor was ideal for one of our university guests to study quietly. The high quality kitchen caters easily for 12 people. We enjoyed the addition of a games room and croquet on the lawn. A final mention and thanks must be given for the huge food hamper awaiting our arrival and the delicious chocolate cake. The owners were perfect hosts. We would thoroughly recommend this property and area of Kent and would love to return one day.

  Where do I start with this beautiful modern barn set amongst the wonderful views of the Hawkhurst Vineyard. Sam and Phil have a real gem of a place and myself and the group we’re lucky to stay here for the weekend (3 nights). The place looks amazing in the photos but when arriving, this was taken to another level. The place has EVERYTHING you could ask for. A group of guys that went away were also welcomed by the addition of the new games room. (Including a pool table, darts and table football) Myself and the group couldn’t ask for anything more! Comfortable rooms, lush bathrooms and a fantastic open space. A brilliant weekend supported by a beautiful barn and fantastic owners. Wouldnt hesitate to book again and will hopefully get back here next year. 5 out of 5 for us!
