What our customers say about their holidays
Rebecca - Verified booking
High quality, stylish, clean and comfortable accommodation, with some nice welcome touches. Good communication with the agency and an easy check in process. The village of Warkworth is pretty, although you need to go to nearby Amble for most supplies. A central base for discovering Northumberland though. A few things would have made it a better experience for us. The description doesn’t spell out clearly that it’s a ground floor flat on a main road. I would have appreciated knowing in advance that there’d be noise from passing cars and the people upstairs. Builders were also drilling and banging next door when we were there, although I imagine that’s temporary. The description says the bedrooms are on the ground floor, but that could also suggest a maisonette or a small house. I’d have welcome a more accurate description. It also that the kitchen was fully equipped, but it didn’t have a dishwasher. That combined with the fact there were 6 small cups between 4 of us made that aspect feel more like camping, unfortunately. I think most people would prefer not to have to wash up by hand, especially in quite expensive accommodation. I’d recommend installing a dishwasher or being clear about this issue in the description, so people know in advance. The bedrooms are at the front on the ground floor so anyone walking past can see straight in. It would benefit from either a privacy film on the window or voiles, as it would enable you to open the curtains. Both bedrooms are very dark otherwise. There is a washing machine but no dryer function. We’d have welcomed that as it was difficult to get the towels dry between uses. It was a nice place: very tastefully done out and comfortable, but I feel I should point out these things out, as we’d have appreciated having a fuller picture in advance.

The beds were very comfortable and it had a state of the art shower... It had an infestation of pigeons on the roof that were very noisy from 4am. This must have been a known issue as there were spikes on window sills, making opening window difficult, and silver ribbons of paper around. They were dirty and noisy. That wasn't the worst however - it was advertised as having a garden, this was no garden! It was a small, dirty, stone filled area between the back two doors. It had a half pack of tablets on stones and there was a horrible entrance next door. It was a disgrace to call it a garden. The full downstairs and stairs were dirty on arrival. Took hrs of calls, emails and photos to company to get this sorted. It was like I wasn't believed but I could write my name in the dust on every surface. The sofas and stair carpet were also dirty. I was only there for two nights but got moved at 4pm the next day for one night. I was advised that work had been done and it had not been cleaned. This can happen however but I was do glad to leave as the non existent garden and bird infestation was terrible. Would I recommend this accommodation? Absolutely not! A couple of days before I was sent an email to see if I wanted to check in an hr earlier for £70++ - absolute disgrace. Not that I would have paid that but an extra hr in that place would not have been welcome...

The apartment was clean and comfortable especially the beds which were super comfortable. Plenty of storage space for clothes with big wardrobe and drawers in the second bedroom. Kitchen was fine for us although we didn’t really cook that often but was well stocked with pans & utensils. The road noise wasn’t an issue for us but may bother others. Parking was around the corner on The Butts which was less than 1 min walk so no issue for us and we also parked on the square when we needed to use the EV charger which was handy. The property was a little dark even in July, perhaps some better lighting would be in order and the bathroom light turned itself off from time to time! The outside space is very small but the small room to the rear was rather nice to sit in the evening with a small dining table and seating area. Overall we had a most enjoyable stay. Warkworth is a charming village with a good selection of bars & restaurants. Amble larger and is a 5 min drive away.

Great location in Warkworth. Nicely furnished and decorated with good bedding and towels. Nice settees and kitchen was ok, fine for doing the basics. Espresso machine appreciated. All in all very comfortable and heating warmed up the apartment well which was critical given the cold weather. Funky smell when we arrived which remained throughout the 3 days we were there. Almost a mildewy, damp odour. Dehumidifier was on in one of the rooms when we arrived so assume there is an issue. We had it on intermittently whilst we stayed and had to empty it twice. Some noise from road as both bedrooms are directly on the street and being an old property the sash windows are not well insulated. Kitchen could do with a larger fridge and some basics like foil, kitchen paper etc to clean up. For the price paid I would say it was fine and the location is perfect for exploring Warkworth and the surrounding area.

We stayed at the property for 2 nights and overall had a pleasant experience. The apartment is easy to find and located in a lovely small village with lots of beautiful places to visit on the doorstep. We were fortunate enough to see lots of seals during an evening stroll at Walkworth beach which was lovely. The apartment was clean and compact but was quite basic. A minor gripe would be that its a shame a couple of coffee pods were not left for us to make use of the coffee machine on our arrival as the cost vs customer experience would be minimal to the letting company. The extra £25 fee which is charged on top of the cleaning fee wasn't made clear until booking which in my opinion didn't represent value for money and wasn't something I have had to pay at other properties. We enjoyed our stay but feel it was expensive with all charges taken into account.
