What our customers say about their holidays

Lovely cottage and yes I would book again but there could be a few improvements that could be done to make things even better especially if you were paying the higher prices in the high summer season.
The shower head is positioned wrong,it really needs a shower curtain as you end up with water all over the floor as the screen isnt wide enough. There was a clump of hair in the corner of the shower but general cleanliness was ok,the stains ect that other review's mention in the bathroom were not there. The hallway and lounge area floors have yellow stains on them. The bushes infront of the kitchen window need cutting back as you cant see out it. The creaky bedroom floor that someone mentioned in 2019 is still there but at the end of the day it didnt bother me that much and its a holiday cottage thats used week in week out and this wouldnt be an easy task to do. Yes it needs a bit of TLC as I wouldnt pay more than what I did and when some pay over a £1000 you would expect things to be top notch but for what I paid it was fine. The bed and pillows are so comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked with utensils ect Could do with some better and more modern outdoor furniture. Yes parking is a bit of a problem especially if you go in very busy periods but there are other areas available. The directions are wrong too its the 2nd turning on the right not the 1st and there isnt a ground floor bedroom. I would use this cottage again as there was just the 2 of us,maybe it would be a bit small for 4 adults but for a young family ideal. Local eateries I can recommend are The Honey Pot but must book, huge portions and nice friendly staff and loads of choice. Thirty in Filey is a must for brunch, breakfast or lunch and the Bucaneer(Smugglers Cove) in Filey is a great place for dinner but again must book. All in all we had a great stay and Im a regular at The Bay and this was £200 cheaper than booking a cottage directly with the resort.

This was our first time staying at Blink Bonney Cottage.
It was lovely the views are absolutely beautiful. Especially from the bedroom watching the lovely pink sky's and odd nights went to bed early just to listen to the birds singing. The beds were very comfy and everything was there we could need. We enjoyed the Guess Who game it was funny. Sitting outside in the sun in the back was lovely then we sat also on the front. We also took the 11.21 train midweek from Glaisdale Station 3 times to whitby and return, if you time it right when you arrive in Whitby you can catch the X94 bus, onto Robin Hoods bay and return to catch the 15.59 train back to Glaisdale. The northern line is called the pretty line, it was beautiful. Our daughter loved it. We also enjoyed visiting Lealholm the next village, another pretty place and did the stepping stones. We filled up with fuel too there, very handy prior to our journey home, and visited the village store which has everything and also the most gorgeous garden centre and local pub. We had a wonderful stay thank you. Sadly our holiday ended on the last night with sad news of my Dad passing away and I think I was meant to be there when I found out, I went and sat by the stream on our last morning and a blackbird visited, it hopped right up to me and stayed for quite some time, maybe it was my dad visiting me one last time, that's what I'd like to think.

We had a lovely stay at Fogga as a group of 11 adult friends (or twelve, we had two people change places midweek and the hotel were great at providing us with fresh bedding to facilitate this!
) The kitchen could do with a few small improvements like not providing oven trays that are too big to fit in any of the ovens (!), providing some silicon utensils rather than the metal ones that have clearly damaged the frying pans, and replacing the missing fridge/freezer drawers. The electric hob also took some getting used to as to controlling it! We found just having one big room as diner/lounge to be a little close with so many of us, but it was a lovely space otherwise and the hot tub and BBQ outside were very much enjoyed. One other small flaw was the downstairs king room has a door to the outside in it, which means it has emergency lighting - which glowed green all through the night and made sleeping difficult for those in that room! We think it was just the little light to show the emergency lighting was working, so this could perhaps be remedied somehow? The main hotel across the road has a gorgeous lake to walk round, and we enjoyed booking a slot at the spa and making use of the facilities there for a discounted rate as guests. Gargrave co-op was just down the road for any little bits we needed and Gargrave was another lovely place for a walk. Skipton was also worth a day trip to see the town and castle. Overall we had a fabulous week, thank you!

We all enjoyed a lovely stay here.
It was near a busy main road, however you didnât hear that when you were in the cottage. It was perfect for a girls get together in fact it was my hen do and it was great that there was a spa across the road. The hot tub was a great addition and was maintained every morning by a very friendly guy! You would have to drive to get anywhere with this property however that wasnât a problem for us. There was one thing in that one of the twin rooms was very small. There were 10 of us staying (all adults) and although it was advertised as a twin it was really a twin for children not adults. There was no bedside table or lamp as there wasnât enough room for one with 2 singles in there. Just a couple of little issues were the pillows in the bedrooms were very hard and not comfortable at all. Also there was no coffee machine so that would have been a good addition. We still had a good stay however and would recommend.

Had a wonderful week away from it all this November in Blinkbonny.
The cottage is wonderfully situated in the lovely village of Glaisdale, just up the road from the local pub and the train station. The cottage has everything you could need and is very cosy. The owners Jonathan and Rachel leave a welcome pack, of milk, local cake, Rachel's home made marmalade and a Whitby Gazette and are very helpful. There are also provisions in the cottage to use if you want to use them such as tea bags, coffee and all the essential cooking equipment etc. The stairs are quite steep but that wasn't a problem for us and to be expected in character properties. It was so quiet and peaceful and the views were stunning. There are many walks in the area with the added bonus that a lot of the local villages have a train station if you didn't fancy walking home. Whitby is at the end of the line too, so twice we caught the train there and back. I would highly recommend stopping in Blinkbonny.
