What our customers say about their holidays

Happy time at Snowhall Barn. We spent a lovely week at Snowhall Barn enjoying the peaceful setting and lovely outlook from the house. The downstairs bedrooms were comfortable and very cool on warm nights. Upstairs the open plan room is lovely; spacious and very comfortable and the addition of the balcony is a definite bonus - so nice to step outside with a glass of wine in the evening. Friendly owners...friendly dogs!We hadn't been to Suffolk before and thoroughly enjoyed going out and about to different places, lovely beach walks and heathland too. The village of Peasenhall is delightful with a few good shops, notably Emmetts the deli which sells so many delicious products that you wouldn't expect to find in Suffolk and a few that you would (amazing Suffolk ham) and also the butchers; delicious sausages and if they have the frangipane slices on the countertop when you visit you should definitely buy some of them!! We had two really good meals at the Whitehorse pub - the food there is a cut above what you'd normally expect at a pub and excellent service too.We really enjoyed our time hope to come back again sometime.

A beautiful and very well equipped holiday cottage in a bustling town with lots of great cafes, restaurants and shops. The town also has lots of history and lots of opportunities to embrace and learn about it. We loved Bungay. The cottage is very characterful with a fun layout that worked well for us. My partner is tall and banged his head a few times but just something to be mindful of if you are tall. Others have commented on the steep stairs, these weren't problematic for us especially as there is very sympathetically placed rails to hold onto. The cottage is beautifully decorated and styled throughout. It was a lovely space to be in but be mindful if you want to watch a bit of TV it's a teeny tele. Another plus for us was the well equipped kitchen and gorgeous secluded garden. A BBQ would have been welcomed especially with the incredible local butcher and fishmonger around the corner. The cottage is positioned on a very busy road (day and night) and the bedroom is road facing so if you are sensitive to traffic noise for sleeping this may not be the cottage for you.

The location was ideal and only a short walk from the main shopping area and the beach. Gulls Nest provided everything needed to ensure we had a comfortable base in Southwold. The modern kitchen had every appliance you could possibly need including a washing machine and dishwasher. The whole cottage was clean and was like home from home with nice touches such as ornaments and pictures. There was also a lovely welcome pack. Washing up liquid, hand soap and loo rolls were also included which was really helpful. An off road parking space and a small courtyard with table and chairs was an added bonus. We had our little dog with us and there are plenty of places to walk. The area is very dog friendly and most cafes and some shops allowed dogs inside. The countryside in Suffolk is beautiful and we found plenty to do in Southwold and also within driving distance. Overall, we had a lovely time and would recommend both the property and area.

= Mostly good. Great position, quiet, relaxing, property has good solid infrastructure (central heating, shower etc) in an "old fashioned" style. = Some "white goods" showing their age, but work. = you need to like living with and using antique furniture, some of which is not very stable. (We had to ask for replacement dining chairs). = toilet very high (we needed to ask for a step for our feet!) = Shower excellent, but over bath, so you need some agility as no handrails. = I'm not sure the central heating would cope in colder weather, although there is "log type" fire upstairs. = Despite that an enjoyable relaxing stay, although probably overpriced.

Absolutely wonderful. It was so peaceful & close to other places of interest. It seemed we were only 20 minutes away from anywhere. The barn itself had everything we needed, & was in tip top condition with all the home comforts. It really was fabulous, the beds were super comfy & the decor spot on. I particularly enjoyed being so close to nature - from the balcony we saw Spotted Fly Catchers, Tawny Owl, Barn Owl & baby leverettes. Wonderful!! I would definitely visit again & recommend a stay there. A lovely part of the world.
