What our customers say about their holidays

Arrived a little later for checkin as unfortunately SatNav took us on a detor!
Once we had arrived, we were met by the cutest Lodge, Besti! Every room we went in we coo'd and ahhh'd over because each room was cute and perfect for it's use. The added touch of Christmas decorations was amazing, I did remember reading about possible decorations but a tree with lights, festive cushions, wreath and a centre piece was above our expectation. With us being a family of 4 we had 2 bedrooms with 1 ensuite and a 'family bathroom' both very similar in size. Again, small but perfectly formed, very modern and clean too! The living room had the tree and a corner sofa with a TV - perfect for Christmas movies! Both bedrooms were with double beds (unfortunately, my two aren't fans of sharing beds so they took it in turns to sleep on a sofa and one in the bed - they did talk about wishing it was bunk beds instead). The rooms had a small pole with coathangers for a wordrobe, again, cleverly designed due to the size of the lodge, with 2x bedside cabinets. The kitchen area was the centre of the lodge with a fully fitted kitchen, integrated appliances, a lovely oak dining table & a sofa! We managed to make a full Christmas dinner and had no issues, oven & hob really easy to use - dishwasher not marvellous (although we don't own a dishwasher so wasn't too sure if we had used it properly - potentially needs a deep clean as some of the glasses & plates still had water marks on them) it did not effect our stay so no big deal! Onto the hot tub....WOW! Perfect on an evening, with an outdoor fridge & table area. It was so lovely to sit & relax with a glass (plastic glasses due to the request of the owners guide) of prosecco watching the sheep and the hills. We were lucky in the fact there wasn't many guests on site so it really felt like we were alone and had the whole garden space (which was fenced off from the sheep but plenty of room to feel like open space) to ourselves. We did have an issue with the hot tub as it became abit smelly a few days in, so we attempted to empty the water and contact the guest services who were helpful and talk my husband through the process. Around the lodge, we saw sooo many sheep & pheasants. It was so picturesque, we all enjoyed the scenery & nature. Apart from the lodge, we were able to drive short distances to various National Parks for dog walks and searching for waterfalls. We visited ZipWorld which was a lovely afternoon out. We got home, unpacked and are looking at dates again for next year - definitely recommend. Thankyou for such a special Christmas.

We had an absolutely amazing time staying here and have recommended it to everyone one!
The cabin decor is beautifully thought out designed and the views and outdoor area are absolutely to die for and I feel it really makes this place worth every penny we paid. The owners were very kind and helpful too, our orginal pod we stayed in the hot tub wasn't working so they immediately moved us to another pod and had even apologised they were at work so they couldn't help bring over all our luggage to the new pod, I felt this was very thoughtful. The only reason we have not given this a 5/5 but 4/5 was because as much as the pods had clearly been cleaned there were a few areas that had been missed such as the taps not being wiped, crumbs on the counter and few food or tea stains on the fronts of the kitchen cabinets meaning I did have to give the kitchen in both pods a clean before we used them. Secondly as much as we understand this is not the owners fault there were several power cuts leaving us unable to cook, use any water or facilities for multiple hours over multiple days. However the owners were responsive and tired to do all they could to get facilities up and running again. However both of these things would not stop us returning or recommending to others. Overall we had a beautiful time, the views are unmatched and the hot tub facilities are incredible! We would love to come back in the future!

I have published this review on Google maps as a local guide: Absolutely fantastic place to stay.
The beautifully decorated pods are clearly a labour of love for the owners Jo and Sion who were also really friendly and helpful during our stay. They have everything you need from the basics like cooking equipment, towels etc to the not so basic like local guide maps, LED candles for romantic evening and nice thoughtful touches like leaving a torch hanging by the door for if you need to go out at night. They are also awesome for the modern traveller like me and my wife with USB ports for phone charging, WiFi, Amazon fire TV and even built in voice assistant (Fantastic for getting your favourite music playing for cooking and relaxing!). The views behind the pods are stunning and worth a wander out to with your morning coffee. The grounds are nice to wake up to and have hammocks which are lovely on a nice day. They are a little intimidating to get to first attempt (a small price to pay for having such a secluded retreat) but my advice is believe Google maps even when you start thinking "this can't be right"! It will get you there in the end. https://goo.gl/maps/jABJ5owwRmfAj5tT9

This is a lovely little cottage that was beautifully decorated and had most of the essentials we needed.
The hot tub was a real highlight, offering a relaxing experience with stunning views. However, there were a few downsides that affected our experience. Unfortunately, we couldnât use the dishwasher as it hadnât been cleaned and had an unpleasant smell, meaning we had to wash everything by hand. There was only a drop of washing-up liquid provided, so we had to purchase more along with bin bags and cleaning supplies, even though the website stated they would be included. Additionally, the pans werenât clean when we arrived, so we had to wash them before use. Towards the end of our stay, we noticed a strong sewage smell coming from the main bathroom, which was quite unpleasant. Overall, the cottage has a lot of potential with its charm and lovely setting, but a bit more attention to cleanliness and stocking the basics would greatly improve the experience.

Iâm not one for leaving reviews but felt compelled to do so on this occasion.
The most perfect spot to set up home for a month let alone a short break. I came here with my partner for a few days and the first thing we noticed was the breathtaking views. The pod itself is totally unique to any other we have stayed in and we have stayed in a few, beautifully decorated inside, warm and a very comfortable bed. The pod is in the ground with only the door to be seen from outside. It was very private with Clocaenog forestry behind. Jane recommended we go for a walk in the forest from the pod it was full of wildlife. We spent most of our time in the outside timber frame gazebo, which had an outside kitchen and ninja bbq. The hot tub was amazing with Bluetooth. We also loved the wood burning stove and sitting area and the lights in the gazebo are stunning when it gets dark.We will definitely return.
