  We have just returned from a week at Nursery Cottage in Alnwick, with Coquet Cottages, and everything with the cottage was absolutely perfect. All of the instructions after booking were really clear so we arrived with no issues at all and were greeted by a warm, welcoming cottage, with a simply wonderful welcome hamper that catered for the full family – including the dog! Wine, beer, chocolates, scones, bread, milk, butter, mineral water, biscuits, cakes, tea, coffee, and more… simply wonderful! Everything was of the highest quality in the cottage – from the toiletries provided, to the furniture, towels, bedding, kitchen appliances – just everything! It made for a very comfortable stay, with no issues at all. Extras like a logged in Netflix account, excellent WiFi, nice smellies, dish washer and washing tablets, lovely olive oil and vinegar, paper napkins – all of these included. We couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you to Lynn the owner and also to the team at Coquet Cottages.

  A lovely cottage in Alnwick. The description and photos were very appealing. We were looking for somewhere within walking distance of a town centre and not far from the coast. The information provided was very helpful and wide ranging. There wasn’t much more we could have asked for. It was fantastic. Not sure we have ever had anything like it. It was a great selection – wine and beer were very good, and it was nice to have a good loaf. I can’t fault it at all and it certainly was a lovely added extra. It was lovely and cool during the very hot days we had. It was quiet which was nice. It was a nice distance from the town. Having the small garden was nice. The parking spot was also welcome, we have been at other places where parking has been an issue.It was a very relaxing break and that is what we were after. We love Northumberland and I’m sure in a few years time we would be looking to return. I wouldn’t hesitate in looking up your company again

  Last week we went to Alnwick for a well earned week long break. We booked with Coquet Cottages which was a good decision to make. Nursery was delightful, stylish, cosy and clean. The welcome hamper was amazing and was the best we have ever seen. We drank the beer and sipped the wine while looking at the flowers, we couldn’t quite believe that all the fancy treats were ours. We learned to fly on the broom stick in the castle grounds, then wandered round the gardens listening for natures sounds. We cycled, walked and drove about and played upon the sand. We swam and splashed in the cool, blue sea but warmed up again when back on land. Thank you to Coquet Cottages and thank you to the owner Lynn, your bolt hole in Northumberland is the best we have ever been in.

  Thank you Lynn and Billy for making us feel so comfortable at Nursery Cottage. We’ve had a marvellous week here! We shall have to come back! The welcome hamper was exceptional and kept us going well into the middle of the week – thank you! The kitchen is lovely, well appointed with everything we needed. Our grandson James stayed with us for two nights and loved visiting Alnwick Castle and joining in with the Harry Potter activites. Our last day was most enjoyable with a delightful walk along the coast to Boulmer and back. Nursery Cottage is well placed for coastal and country walks – we need to come back. Thank you again.

  This was our first trip to Northumberland, and from its pretty garden to the exceptional interior, Nursery Cottage was the perfect base from which to explore this beautiful county. We’ve stayed in a number of cottages in our time, this one was by far the best we’ve experienced. It’s well equipped, the shower is fabulous and we were made to feel very welcome with a super welcome pack, which was much appreciated after a long journey. Stephanie was a great host and Coquet Cottages were very friendly and helpful, we’d definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone considering a trip to Northumberland.
