What our customers say about their holidays

We only stayed one night out of three, the lighting outside the property is terrible, we arrived when it was dark and struggled to use the key box to obtain the door key, the door key is a struggle to open the door.
There was a very bad damp smell on arrival into the property, bedding was dirty and stained, there was full damp absorbing tubs, there was a lot of dust on the window sill in the bathroom and the surfaces were grubby. Outside the property there are a lot of weeds which could be a tripping hazard. There could be a light placed above the door. Positive points - the owner is very approachable, was very good at sorting problems we pointed out the day after we arrived. the bed itself was comfy, there was mattress protectors and pillow protectors, downstairs sofas are very comfortable, the kitchen is good quality and well laid out, thereâs teas and coffee sachets. The heating system is very effective. The place could benefit from curtains in the bedroom to block out the light outside shining into the room, and a few more homely touches upstairs.

Small cottage in Stokesley, with 1 twin and one double bedroom, ideally situated with great facilities on the doorstep and parking directly outside on a first come first served basis.
Please be aware that there is no outside space with this cottage and only 1 door at the front of the property. Cottage is very small downstairs with an adequate kitchen area opening into a small seating/lounge area, there is no separate eating area but a drop leaf table is provided for meals or you can eat meals on your knees which is what we tended to do. Seating in the lounge needs attention there is one new chair which is comfortable but the small armchair and sofa have seen better days and could do with replacing in our opinion. Bedrooms are spacious with comfortable beds and lovely cotton bedding . We all slept well. Stairs in the property are very steep but there is a good solid handrail however I would think it is not a property suited to the elderly /infirm.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The cottage was better than expected and well maintained. All the personalised decorations demonstrated how well taken care of the cottage is. We really appreciated the bottle of wine left for us and our dog enjoyed sun bathing on the dog bed in the garden. The kitchen had everything you could need and we were left with plenty of towels and dishcloths. Redcar was a great spot for our break. The cottage was a short 5 minute walk from the beach which was beautiful but for being so close, the street was still really quiet. We also had day trips to Scarborough (1hr 15mins) and Whitby (45mins away) which the cottage was well placed for. We highly recommend this cottage and would stay again.

Fantastic cottage with plenty equipment and goods to meet all your needs. Lots of quirky interior design features that were very interesting. Welcome pack and bottle of wine was a lovely gesture on arrival. Situated on the edge of Redcar which is sadly in need of some local regeneration ( like most towns) however beautiful beaches on your doorstep, dog friendly. Excellent for trips to Saltburn, Kettleness for fossils , Staithes and Whitby. Hartlepool royal navy museum and marina is a short drive. Nearby villages of Yarm ,Guisborough and Stokesly for markets all available. Main town of Middlesbrough just down the road for shopping. All in all a lovely cottage, close to lots of things to do at every level.

Had a lovely stay at Little Nest Cottage.
It was exactly as described in the listing - a little cottage in town centre location, well furnished and a comfortable base for exploring North Yorkshire. The cottage had everything we needed and a nice welcome pack of coffee/ teas and treats when we arrived. While the cottage does allow dogs, which was great given that we were travelling with ours, there isnât a garden or a nearby space for them to use (the front door opens directly into the communal car park) We were aware of this before our visit so it wasnât too much of a problem, so just something for future guests to be aware of too. Overall, I would say the cottage was very good value for money and we had a very pleasant stay. Thank you!
