  Comfort and convenience for dog walking was excellent.

  The welcome pack was a lovely touch when we arrived. On opening the door, the sea view was stunning and stayed with us throughout the holiday. Main bedroom has the same view so it was lovely to wake up to that beautiful view. Inside, the decor sets the holiday mood, bright colours and lovely seascape pictures. Feels like a home, rather than a holiday rental. Everything you could want in the kitchen, and private garden to the front and back. Also the private parking helped a lot, as we had travelled from Scotland. Lovely host, Jenny. So helpful with places to eat and transport to both South Shields and Sunderland. Also, just along the coast is a fantastic beach at Seaburn, which has a Morrisons and great eating places. Great holiday all round

  The Annex is perfect as a base to see the wonderful Northumberland countryside.

  The hosts are friendly and welcoming, they were there if we needed them but were not 'in your face' they helped to make it a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The Annex itself was a home from home & had everything we needed. There are a lot of steps down to the Annex so something to think about if you have mobility issues BUT both my daughter and I are disabled and apart from bringing things in on arrival and packing back up at the end we managed well and it will NOT stop us going back. We will just pack things a bit differently. All in all I would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a good holiday in the area. We are already looking at dates to go back, and we don't normally go to the same place twice.

  We absolutely loved our stay here - it was perfect!

  The accommodation has everything you could possibly need and has been a great location for me whilst doing some renovations on my property in Northumberland. The owners were really friendly and extremely helpful. The property was clean, tidy and extremely well-maintained. It was a really quiet area, parking is available for 1 vehicle, the garden was perfect for my dog and generally, everything was great! I can't think of any negative points; our only struggle was initially finding the house as I don't know Prudhoe very well at all, but the owner was really helpful with this aspect, too! Thanks Joanne and David - we will definitely return if and when we need to come back to Northumberland again!

  Two things, both lack of information.

  Firstly, when we arrived it was quite cold and it took a while to get the heating on and it went off after about 10 minutes, instructions on how to operate the heating would have been useful. Halfway through the week we realised that the living room window was open, closing it had been restricted by a piece of plastic. Secondly, the recycling, there was instructions as to which bin to us but nothing about what gets recycled we had to check with our friends who live in the area. Other than this The Annex was very clean and quiet although it was close to a busy road.

  The Annex is well located for local shops, pub and public transport to both Hexham and Newcastle, and beyond.

  The ability to park on the owners’ driveway was a bonus as there are double yellow lines on both sides of the street. The property is comfortable, warm and well equipped and the owners were very helpful and friendly. The patio doors from the bedroom to the garden let in lots of light but it would have been good to have had a small window to open overnight just to let in some fresh air. A pair of kitchen scissors would be a useful addition. My only comment is that I felt there was a slight smell of doggie scent marks in the property.
