What our customers say about their holidays

We have just returned from a fabulous week at windy mundy farm with very mixed feelings.
This property is stunning and the views amazing and it is so remote and peaceful, the farm is well equipt with everything you need including dish washing tabs ,laundry tabs, bin bags, wash cloths and scourers, tea, coffee ,sugar, biscuits milk etc, everything is really well thought out. however we did have a few major niggles, the air vent in the kitchen is filthy, the "sumptuous" sofas are in a terrible sun bleached and stained condition and were extremely uncomfortable to relax on, there are an awful lot of blown windows which make it difficult to see the stunning views, while we were there for some reason none of the showers had hot water and could only achieve tepid water at most, the bedroom in the separate games room was absolutely freezing so had to add a heater that was found in another bedroom and also the shower in that complex only had cold water. the cleanliness unfortunately was not the best, some of the taps and shower hoses are terribly grimy especially room B and C, the microwave is truly gruesome, all the inside is rusted and it stank, curtains are ripped, there are mega dust webs everywhere and carpets have dog pee stains dotted about, but the biggest niggle was the path leading to the farm which is absolutely horrendous!! we understand this is a farm path with tractors passing through but a little hardcore to fill some of the many potholes would not go a miss, after two trips out we decided not to venture out for the rest of the week because it was just uncomfortable driving especially for the elder and pregnant who were in our family.

We rented Windy Mundy for a long weekend with a groups a friends from our University days.
It was a party of 11 adults and the house was perfect. All the rooms were spacious and comfortable with excellent facilities to cook for a large party. There was plenty of room for people to chat in small groups as well as for us to eat together at the large sociable dining table. The location is quite isolated (which was perfect for us as there was a bit of Karaoke going on) so there are no neighbours to disturb !! The house itself has a very welcoming feel, 'farm house' with some very stylish features and everyone commented on how comfortable it felt i.e. you felt immediately at home there. We mostly stayed at the house but did venture into Shrewsbury which is about 30 mins by car and is a lovely town. We also took our dog for a walk along the river and he had a lovely time. The shops were a bit different and characterful with some standard retailers as well as niche boutiques. A few people from our group visited the Shrewsbury prison tour which they found very interesting and worthwhile. A couple of minor points (as we would highly recommend this house). It was a little tricky to find so some improved instructions would help. We went along the track road a number of times and turned back not realising how far along the house is. Location of keys to access the sauna etc was not clear - again a few more instructions would help. The hot water pressure is weak and maybe a bit more guidance on re cycling bottles etc. Thank you for letting us stay in this wonderful house - we had a fabulous time !!! xxx

We have just returned from an amazing weekend.
The property is fantastic for large parties, there was so much space that we never felt on top of each other. The kitchen was so well equipped with loads of storage. The main room is so impressive, and it is such a sociable area. The view is nothing short of breathtaking, we were lucky with the weather which meant we could sit outside & enjoy the scenery. The only criticism was the lack of outdoor seating for so many people, the benches sat 10 people comfortably. The other people sat on the decked area. The bedrooms were all beautiful & decorated in keeping with the building. The king size bedroom that is located next to the sauna is in an annex, this wasnât specified in the description of the property, however this didnât cause a problem for us. As stated in previous reviews the track leading up to the property has pot holes, as long as you drive slow and donât go in a sports car this shouldnât be a problem. The manager of the property contacted me via email the week before with lots of information which was really good. And there was some lovely touches for us when we arrived biscuits, milk, washing up liquid & dishwasher tablets. If you are looking for a tranquil location with amazing views you will not be disappointed.

We loved our stay at Windy Mundy Farm; it was exactly what we wanted, letting us take advantage of the countryside but also being convenient to get to with taxis.
The place is beautiful and thoughtfully laid out and I would highly recommend people to stay there. The living room is far enough away from all (apart from one) of the bedrooms so it means that people can stay up late socialising and others can go to bed early. The location is beautiful and you can wander round to Pitchford Hall and take in the architecture and grounds there. There's also just a beautiful view of the countryside from the main area in the accommodation and an outdoor table where you can eat al fresco. I'm just disappointed we were there on such hot days so we couldn't make use of the sauna or the lovely fireplace in the living room. Our only issue was that some of the bedroom windows don't open and that was tough considering we were there on the hottest days ever in the UK! We also were a little disappointed there was no salt and pepper or other kitchen basics like baking paper and foil. Those are very mild negatives though as they are just things we hadn't thought about and otherwise the kitchen had everything we needed, even down to multiple caffetieres and an immersion blender.

Absolutely stunning property with amazing views.
The directions were easy to follow and access to the property was as described and straightforward. On arrival it was warm, clean and welcoming with all bedding and towels provided. Kitchen is really well equipped with plenty of everything, and even two kettles, two toasters and two fridges which proved very useful with a large party. The property was renovated about twenty years ago and it is still beautiful but I would say that some of the mattresses are due for replacement in the near future. The only other niggle was that the water pressure in some of the showers was poor so it was hard to have a good shower. It worth mentioning that one of the double rooms is in a separate building with the sauna and games room. This was not an issue for us as we had teenagers who were happy to sleep away from their parents, but if you have small children who would need to be near parents do bear this in mind. Karen the manager was very responsive and helpful both before and during our break when we had a query. Overall we had a brilliant week and would not hesitate to recommend Windy Mundy Farm.
