What a beautiful, tranquil spot.
The lodge is tucked away down a country lane with views over rolling hills and only birdsong to disturb the quiet. Lesley gave us a warm welcome despite the late hour...a log fire burning, a generous welcome basket and a friendly face after a rather fraught drive over the Pennines. The lodge was spotless, spacious, comfortable and full of light. The king size bed was REALLY comfortable...we opened the French doors onto the little private patio and let the breeze in. It was absolute bliss. I could have stayed put for the whole time but my companion wanted to have a potter to Malton, Pickering, Filey. We had an excellent lunch at the Blacksmiths Arms in the village and visited the lovely Ryedale Vineyards. A special few days in a super holiday cottage in a gorgeous part of the UK. We'll be back!

Superb apartment- stylishly decorated and excellent facilities. The accommodation was in the Netherby Hall estate. Such a peaceful and beautiful setting. The gardens are extensive and well tended. We loved the walled garden and wild flower meadows. All of the staff on the estate were brilliant; polite and knowledgeable and on hand to answer any questions we asked whether it was about appliances in the apartment or anything else like recycling. The complimentary mini bus service to the splendid Pentonbridge Inn for dinner was an added bonus.

Loved our stay, it was excellent right from the start.
Pip the dog came to greet us along with Lesley the owner on arrival. We went in to a lovely hamper on the table and a nice bright and spacious living area and dining kitchen area. Both the bedroom and bathroom were a good size and outside the lodge there is loads of space for parking. There was even sharp knives, which is quite rare in holiday cottages and a wood burning stove, which we were lucky enough not to have to use.

Could not fault the cottage it had every thing you need. Would have been perfect if a bathroom could be upstairs, but understand as the owners have said is they could not get planning permission. But so lovely in every other way , and we hope to come back in the summer.
