What our customers say about their holidays

Kitchen surfaces/ oven and bathrooms very clean.
Bathrooms lovely and very modern. Overall though, house is quite dusty in places, with a number of cobwebs throughout. They donât bother us much, as we live in a rural area, but I can imagine would be off-putting to some guests. I did an online shop with Morrisons for when we arrived, but found I couldnât use much of the cupboards or freezer when unpacking my shopping. Freezer is in desperate need of defrosting. Once I had removed all the ice trays and broken freezer doors that were stored inside it - I managed to use one of the shelves for my food. Iâd say itâs currently around 50% ice - so needs attention. Itâs definitely a âhome away from homeâ as felt lived in and is lovely and warm. Everything you could need is in the kitchen - but it is bordering being cluttered. All of the cupboards and drawers in the kitchen are full. I unpacked/tidied one of the cupboards and moved items around, so that I could store my shopping. It would have been nice to have just one empty cupboard to unpack my shopping into. I understand itâs a dog friendly place, so again we can turn a blind eye, but there was dog poo around the front of the house and on the grass, which was nothing to do with our dogs. We removed what we saw so the kids could play outside. We are very vigilant with picking up after our dogs, but realise some people arenât - so this is not the fault of the cleaners really, itâs just annoying. The furniture in the tv room is tired and somewhat uncomfortable, but the furniture in the second living space is lovely, with a lovely view. Finally, the lighting throughout is tricky. Only the kitchen and bathrooms have ceiling lights. The rest of the rooms have just one or two lamps. This was ok for some of us, but my Mum, for example, struggled to read upstairs and opted to get ready in the bathroom due to the lighting in her bedroom. We therefore spent most of our family time in the kitchen, eating, chatting and playing games around the big table, which was great. I think overall, nice enough, but maybe a bit too expensive for what it is. We wouldnât stay again. But have enjoyed our holiday away from it all. Thanks.

On arrival very disappointed as when we booked we were promised the house would be decorated for Christmas as we had booked the Christmas week after calling lakelovers to find out why no decorations we then had to go and buy our own and decorate the house ourselves not what you want after a 5 hour journey lakelovers did reimburse us for the cost of decorations The manger of the property Tracey did come to house and try and fix our problems which was appreciated When we inspected rooms the back bedroom had water running down wall and black mould on wall and ceiling when we questioned this we were told sorry we thought the leak was fixed this room remained damp and cold the whole week our son (âwhoâs 6ft tall)had to sleep in small little cabin bed in another room for the week not great Also tap in kitchen constantly running this was attempted to be fixed whilst we were there but plumber could not fix Apart from these issues the beds were comfortable the showers were out of this world and all other things in this house were of a very good standard

I donât normally leave a review but on this occasion I feel I need to.
To start I want to say the lodge is beautiful and the views are amazing, itâs lovely to wake up to that view every day. However when we arrived the whole lodge was frozen, there was no heating and the water to everything had completed frozen, we tried to get maintenance but it was going to be a few hours. Luckily my husband is a farmer and had spent all week unfreezing pipes so after about 4-5 hrs we managed to get things up and running but it did take until well into the next day to start to get warm. I completely understand things being frozen with the weather but I feel someone should have checked on the property to make sure everything was ok before we arrived then the issue could have been sorted, it was that cold even the water in the toilet bowl was completely frozen, like I mentioned my husband had spent all week defrosting pipes, he didnât expect to when we are going away for a weekend. We did feel like we had a wasted night at the lodge which is sad because itâs was a really lovely place to be when it was warm.

A lovely place to stay.
Absolutely spotless when we arrived, very comfortable with quality furniture but practical too. Bathrooms are superb and the bedrooms are all excellent. A couple of things to point out for the ownerâs benefit really, two doors wouldnât fully close and as one is the end bedroom that was a bit inconvenient. Door handles just need adjustment. Also, you can see daylight round most of the front door so just needs some insulation tape! Just thinking of your winter fuel bills. Maybe the courtyard could be made a little more private too, if Iâm being picky. Parking was fine in the first two days (in late May) but after that it could be a problem parking near the property. Guess that depends on when you stay here. Anyway these are minor points, we really enjoyed our time at the property. It is very smart inside, spacious, only a few minutes walk from the town and has views of some of the hills. Overall, a very pleasant place to stay and we would highly recommend.

We had a fantastic time and lodge was lovely.
We have stayed on Fallbarrow park many times but this was far the best property we have stayed in. Everything was really clean and comfortable and view was unbelievable. My only issue was the main walk in shower. I used it once but found it very difficult to shower and stop the water from flooding the bathroom at the same time with the squeegee provided. The floor is not at the right angle for the water to drain into the waste plug. I think it really needs addressing as other guests might not be as careful and this could end up being a big issue. It could be a lovely shower though and it was a shame I felt I couldnât have a relaxing shower in it but I used the over bath one instead. Hope the owners will address this for our next visit. Iâm happy for you not to mention the shower issue if you decide to publish this. Itâs really just a helpful note to the owners. Hopefully will be back again. Many thanks.
