What our customers say about their holidays

A great well equipped modern and spacious house with 4 large comfortable double rooms a modern stylish bathroom and downstairs shower room, Modern spacious kitchen with large American fridge freezer.
Utility room with. Washer dryer and microwave. Large seperate dining room and lounge. Carris the property manager is very friendly and helpful and is on the end of a phone, lives locally and responds quickly to any requests The house is five minutes walk from the centre of Pwhelli and Lidl Asda and an amazing Spar. There is a large safe enclosed garden to the front with a swing ideal for young children. The home is an ideal base for exploring the Lyn Peninsular with lots of great beaches and attractions within 30 min drive. Pwllheli has 2 safe Sandy beaches, short drive to Abersoch and Criccieth and 25 mins to Porthmadog and Welsh Highland Railway which is great for young kids. The house is on a main road to the front which is busy. The windows in the house block out the road noise but if you are a light sleeper it might be problematic in hot weather if you need to sleep with windows open. The Whitehall in town serves great food, the Jewel in the Crown is a good Indian and Allporrs is a nice Fish and chip shop, there is a great fishmongers next to the Spar which also has live lobster and dry aged steak in a special fridge. The house is very airy and remains cool in hot weather. We had a great stay would definitely return.

Overall, we had a pleasant & comfortable stay.
The property is located in a fantastic location with wonderful views of the Snowdonia mountains, and being within a working farm, there were lots of sheep in the surrounding fields. The cottage is large and spacious with a lot of mod cons and we had a very peaceful & relaxing time. Some aspects however that I felt needed attention included: 1) while a delightful welcome pack was provided, I felt some basic things such as kitchen rolls, salt/pepper etc. were not available and we had to go out almost immediately after we checked in to purchase these, 2) the property only has 2 bathrooms/toilets and while this was not a problem for us as we were a small group, I imagine it would be more difficult to manage for a larger group of people (something to bear in mind), 3) while the property had been cleaned to a decent standard overall, we could see cobwebs in some places, 4) It is useful to note that access to the property is via a severely potholed and winding road which runs for about 0.75 mile or so through a disused quarry, and is quite difficult to drive through after dark. I think it would be worthwhile pointing this out in the property description. Overall, a nice holiday but slightly let down by the points noted above.

Loved the house.
It was very well equipped and the downstairs kitchen and living areas were excellent. The fabulous collection of Duplo was particularly enjoyed by our grandson. A collection of adult games such as Scrabble, trivial pursuit and local guide books would be an asset to the house. The bathrooms were excellent apart from the downstairs toilet seat which slipped around when sat on and has been previously mentioned in a review as needing fixing. The showers were very good hot and powerful. The bedrooms were all a good size. The bed in the main room was comfortable. One bed has a standalone frame surround which has missing slats at the bed head end and rocks around noisily and alarmingly. Another bed has a fixed metal bed head which creaks with every turn. However our main issue was the very thin curtains which blocked very little light from the moon or sun. Also the road noise. If there had been thick curtains or blinds we would have rated the accommodation higher. Luckily we had taken a blackout blind for the toddler room not so lucky for the adults. Outside space is as described. House is very well placed for access to beaches and town.

What a lovely comfortable week at Bryn Awel!
The small neat frontage belied the Tardis-like spaciousness of the accommodation. The kitchen and the garden (equipped with barbecue and decked seating) have a lovely view of St. Tudwalâs islands with only fields between the cottage and the sea. The view from the master bedroom adds another 180 degrees and is consequently spectacular. We were impressed by the thought given to equipping this holiday home from home. The kitchen has everything from pizza wheels and wine stoppers to a potato masher and colander. Cling film, foil and dishwasher tablets were just some of the items supplied. The three bath/shower rooms meant that it felt safe and private for a group of friends. Each was supplied with good quality handwash and sanitizer was distributed around the cottage. In the bedrooms there was a choice of duvets in different tog values and good quality bedlinen. We found it in easy reach of many lovely beaches ( see the engaging local photographs on the walls for ideas), National Trust sites and food outlets from fine dining restaurants to takeaways. We would thoroughly recommend a holiday at Bryn Awel and hope to visit again, soon"

This house is clean, bright and inviting, especially the kitchen/dining room and the good sized bedrooms.
(It's down a long, quite bumpy lane, so drive gently!) The beds were very clean and comfortable. As a family of six, including our infirm, elderly mother, we'd hoped the downstairs toilet would be nearer the bedroom. The walk to the toilet, along the little corridor, through kitchen and utility room is fine for able bodies but was not easy for her. (A door from corridor to utility would have helped.) We found lighting in the sitting room to be quite dim, so we stayed in the kitchen where the lovely long table was perfect for our jigsaws in the evenings! The snug is great for anyone to sit separately and watch the TV (as is the lounge)! The garden is beautifully maintained and private with really nice seating and mountain views. From this location we visited the Snowdon mountain railway, Caernarfon. Bangor, Criccieth and nearby Beddgelert, which is very special. All in all, we had a wonderful week in this tranquil setting.
