  Booked ‘The Den’ last minute for a relaxing xmas getaway.

  The property had everything we needed and very well stocked; upon arrival we met with the friendly host Carl of whom showed us around the property and ensured we had full knowledge of the utilities and how they should be used. Also provided was a complimentary bottle of prosecco which was enjoyed whilst we spent our evening in the hot tub and a small pint of milk. The property was very clean, nice and warm, which was a bonus due to the cold weather at the time. The bed was comfortable and a very decent size, which ensured we were able to have a lovely night sleep, the only downfall being the noise coming from the pipes in the bedroom which had a trio of tones during random times of the night and at times quite disturbing; however this can easily be amended . Overall we have had a lovely weekend and would definitely return to the property.

  Me and my partner went to stay at the Den just before Xmas weekend.

  We only booked the trip in the morning and Karl was very accommodating towards this. We reached there at 10.30pm and was worried how cold it would be. We were surprised to get there as the rooms were very warm and cosy and everything was spot on. The rooms were very clean and immaculate and Karl ensured we had everything for out stay. A milk gallon was in fridge with essentials like coffee, tea, sugar etc. All the facilities were amazing and the hot tub was simply the highlight of the trip. We enjoyed it soo much and have recommended to all friends and family. On Xmas Eve, we got a lovely gift from Karl to keep us going. Absolutely amazing place to stay and would definitely recommend the Den. Thank you Karl for being an amazing host ☺️

  Wonderful place to stay.

  This was our first break away for 5 years and booked this cottage on the strength of its recommendations and reviews. They were not wrong. Hot tub was lovely, clean and well maintained. Kitchen area was spotless as well as the bathroom. We didn't have any plans made about what to see and do however the folder left in the cottage gave us a few pointers and off we went. Local pubs were great and we would recommend 'The Shoulder of Mutton' as a great place for food. For visiting places Ashbourne was a nice town and make sure you visit Chatsworth House and Kedleston Hall. Not to mention Alton towers. Top notch service and support by Karl and Pip - thanks to you both. We hope to see you again soon.

  We spent a week at the tunnel bridge lake farm over Christmas, what a spectacular place.

  Firstly, the host brendan was very welcoming and explained how to operate all facilities clearly. The location is tranquil, looking out to the lake through huge windows. The furnishings are very modern and everything you need is supplied. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept in, waking up to lookout to the lake and surrounding countryside is picturesque. I couldn't recommend this place enough. The photos are exactly what you get. The hot tub is a great addition to spend your late winter nights. I wish I could live there to be honest. Thank you Brendan for letting us spend our best Christmas holiday at the tunnel. We will love to come back in the near future.

  We had a really lovely stay and Karl was an excellent host right down to the chilled Prosecco and fresh flowers.

  The only reason we’ve given 4 stars and not 5 is that, for us, we would have preferred a slightly more comfortable sofa (it seemed to be more “occasional seating” and we found sitting for an evening was not the most relaxing). The other thing was the slightly limited clothes hanging space and somewhere to put bulky outdoor coats etc. where they didn’t keep falling off the hooks! We are NOT nitpicking but hope you appreciate us drawing these things to your attention. All of the other facilities were of excellent quality, and everything you could possibly want was provided - even down to an air fryer. We so enjoyed our brief stay. Hot tub was lovely. Thank you.
