What our customers say about their holidays

    Beautiful house and stylishly decorated.

Nice location although the first night there was a lot of noise in the campsite in the school field below the house. Luckily that was just a weekend thing. Beds comfy and most people liked the pillows. Kitchen is very stylish but slightly form over function. Dishwasher is too small for the size of the house. We were surprised with a large kitchen and utility room there was no freezer (although the icemaker was a hit). We should have read the info closer as had brought up frozen stuff which we then had to cook that night. Oven and dishwasher tricky to get the hang of (even with instructions) and the extractor fan needed an app to work, which despite downloading we couldn’t get to work. House was clean. Oven and many of the pans were not and the barbecue looked like it had never been cleaned. I had asked about whether there was a vacuum as with two shedding dogs and people who are allergic we hoover at least once a day. Unfortunately it was completely clogged and my husband had to cut out all the hair from the brush which wouldn’t rotate. My eyes hurt after using it and my husband took the filter out to find it had at least a cm of thick dust around it. Worked better once he’d sorted that too. Could do with a water jug and a few more larger bowls and cutting knives, but lots of nice plates, side plates, small bowls and mugs. Also an outdoor shower would help and some hooks around the hot tub to hang towels and dressing gowns. Also a few more places to hang towels in the bathrooms would be useful. The hot tub was lovely. We turned it down from 40 to 38.5 as 40 felt too warm. The warning flashing that it was 42 days overdue cleaning was slightly disconcerting and I did hope that the same people who are responsible for the oven and the barbecue were not responsible for cleaning the hot tub! The electric car charging point was much appreciated by the Tesla driver in our party. We were a party of 8 for the weekend and 6 for the rest of the week, with two dogs. We all had a great time and would recommend the house. The large kitchen table, patio table and sofas in the lounge make it a very sociable house. Be warned that due to the amount of glass your dogs may think it is later in the morning than it actually is so you may get woken up early than you were hoping for!

    Absolutely fantastic property.

We stay in the highlands, my sister and her fella stay in London, so it was a great meeting point. Exactly as the property is described. I was a little concerned after reading a few bits of feedback, however on arrival to the property couldn’t believe what a little gem it was and such a reasonable price for all we had. Had an amazing seven day stay, cooked twice in the property a full English breakfast and a evening meal no issues. Ventured out practically every day. went boulder hopping to the local pub twice The farmers baycliff which is fantastic find, great staff and fantastic food. The road outside isn’t particularly busy but it is a very fast road so anybody with children I would recommend supervising when leaving the property. Straight across from the property are walks, beautiful scenery and loads of outdoor space. Found the property really clean. Sofa bed under the window moves when you first sit on it however very comfortable and as long as you don’t spend your entire stay on it, not an issue. Shower in the bedroom overlooking the front of the property the grout around the plug is starting to give way. never had an issue with flooding as we put the foot towel in front of the shower to stop it splashing out. Due to extremely high winds the boiler went off our second night so the following day there was minimal hot water however the response on a Sunday from the owners was fantastic and because we wash regularly to go without a shower for four hours wasn’t the end of the world. Hot tub is a great addition, as previously stated by another visitor somewhere to hang towels outside would be a bonus, we took the drying rack out and just placed our towels on that. We had a young couple stay next door, the only time we heard them was when our bedroom window was open fully because of the hot weather and their bedroom window was wide open, no impact on our stay. Took a walk down to the moat farm, who do takeaway food. we popped in for ice cream. The blind in the bedroom with the bath in front of the window is white and let’s a lot of light in, so we used the base to the cot to prop up in front of the window to help black it out, again not a major issue. Would definitely recommend, will definitely be back, Really enjoyable week, fantastic property.

We stayed at this cottage last weekend and had a really lovely time. Honestly, the pictures on the website don’t do it justice — the accommodation is much nicer in real life: clean, cosy, beautifully maintained, and full of charm. The location is also ideal for hikes, with some great trails nearby offering stunning views. A thoughtful touch from the host was leaving some local farm butter and milk in the fridge, which we really appreciated. The kitchen is well-equipped with a dishwasher and an espresso machine — though it’s worth noting that no coffee capsules were provided, so be sure to bring your own if you want to make use of it. We also found the washing machine and dryer extremely useful, especially after returning from wet and muddy hikes. It was quite cold when we arrived, and unfortunately, we couldn’t get hold of the host at 10pm to help us start the central heating. Luckily, the cottage has wood-burning stoves which we used to warm the space — they added a nice, rustic touch, even if they took a bit of time to get going. The wood-fired hot tub is a lovely idea, but it’s fully out in the open with no shelter, so not the most enjoyable experience in the rain. It also takes around 4 hours to heat up properly, so definitely plan ahead if you want to use it. We were also a bit disappointed that there was no BBQ on-site despite the listing referencing “firing up the BBQ.” That said, the host was very kind and accommodating with a late checkout (12:30), which we really appreciated. Overall, this is a beautiful, peaceful cottage in a great location for a quiet, nature-filled getaway — just be prepared with a few extras and a bit of flexibility!

The property, on face value, looks really nice.

Beautiful views and well equipped property. The let down, and will prevent a return visit, is the following points. A very cold front bedroom that has a hole in the apex which allows a loud whistling of the wind and noise if the traffic through preventing sleep. The pillows are hard and lack any comfort, ended up using a blanket. There is a chip in a few tiles of the bathrooms. The bath in the front bedroom is nice, however, on emptying it the draining making such a loud noise that you cannot hear the tv (or the wind from the roof) for a minute or 2. The heating is very hit and miss, either too hot or too cold. Warning, nothing heats the front bedroom, its the hole that needs fixing. Only one sofa is usable as the other sofa is broken, On our return, reading other feedback, this has been the case since at least July 2021. All sounds from next door can be heard, everything, including general conversations. Definitely not peaceful This is not luxury, its nice, but definitely not luxury or worth the price we paid for the stay. How is that restful, peaceful or relaxing when you feel heard by neighbours, unable to sit where you want and unable to sleep in the bedroom of choice. So, what was meant to be a quiet, relaxing weekend ended up not being the case and spoilt a major part of our stay and treat of a break. The accommodation was not relaxing and definitely not peaceful or luxurious as stated in the description. Very disappointed

We absolutely loved our time at the Bluebell cottage.

We arrived on the Monday and had a chilled day after a long drive. A few drinks after dinner we were in our very comfy beds passed out. The private hot tub helped massively our time here after long days out and about, the facilities were great for our needs and clean too. The cottage has amazing views and weren't too far away from what we had planned to do the Tuesday and Wednesday, I highly recommend the safari and the steam train to Windemere. The cottage has great location as a base and I got bonus points with the inlaws by choosing here and volunteering to drive on the Wednesday. We got the weather eventhough it was September. The bath was amazing too The cottage itself had only 2 flaws, one of the sofas sounded like the wood was needing repaired and the floor needed a brush when we arrived. The other issues aren't their fault but I'll mention as a pre-warning. The beach isn't soft sand so take wellies, the week we went the manure was being sprayed so one night we couldn't use the hot tub because there wasn't any wind blowing away the smell and kettle takes ages to heat up water for tea I honestly hope to come back here in the near future, especially in the summer and for longer as there's so much to do also it's a great get away if you need away from a hectic lifestyle. We feel so recharged after it all
