  Me and my boyfriend enjoyed a lovely stay at Longlands farm cottage.

  The cottage itself is so cosy and spacious. We were very pleased that there was all kinds of pots, pans, cutlery and utensils for us to cook some food during our stay. There are only the slightest changes needed. The can opener provided doesn’t really work, we had some difficulty using it, this may need fixing or replacing. Also, whilst a lot of seasoning and condiments were provided there was no pepper in the pepper shaker so we did have to purchase this. There could also be some hand soap put in the bathroom, there was only one soap and that was in the kitchen. There was also some difficultly using the toaster, it’s not the best toaster. We hadn’t used one like it before and did end up burning our toast a lot. As said these are only minor issues, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we’re grateful for the bottle of Prosecco and cartmel sticky toffee pudding that awaited us on our arrival. The Cartmel sticky toffee pudding is a must-try, we actually bought more during our stay as we loved it so much! The bedrooms are lovely and cosy with very comfy beds and the bathroom was clean and modern. The location of the cottage is great, with beautiful surroundings. The view from the hot tub in the private garden is incredible! Cartmel is only a 5 minute drive/ 20 minute walk away and the seaside town grange-over-sands is only a 10-15 minute drive. From grange-over-sands there are takeaways you can order for collection and delivery. We ordered a delivery from Akhi Indian restaurant and that was great. I’ve already recommended the cottage to family and friends, it is a great place for a long stay, we also noticed for potentially shorter stays there are the Longlands retreats glamping pods which also have incredible views of the surroundings.

  We had a fabulous stay.

  The Clock Tower has everything covered. The place was picturesque, and the building was huge. All rooms are tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The kitchen is superior to many we have stayed in, with everything you would need to cook a three-course meal if needed. All towels were included, plus separate towels for the hot tub. The Hot tub had been checked over whilst we were out, we thought that excellent. Plus another nice touch was the gift of box of chocolates left on arrival in the kitchen. The beds were comfy and bedding of top quality, we all have the best sleep as it's so peaceful. The Bathrooms are arge and easy to manouvre, showers perfect and lovely and modern. The Garden was well manicured and had lovely setting and everything covered for a barbeque. Parking was great, I think we were the only people there for the 3 nights we were at the Clock Tower, so it was very peaceful. We loved the spiral staircase, but found it a little difficult, as we are an older crowd ranging from late 60's to late 70's. But we managed perfectly even with mobility issues. Overall, this was a superb stay, with everything in reach within a 15 minute drive, (small towns in the lakes etc.with bars, cruising the lakes and wonderful restaurants) It's truly an incredible place.   Oak Cottage is situated in the countryside just outside Ulverston and is a good base for people looking to explore the South lakes.

  The cottage itself is beautiful and has everything you could possibly need to make for a perfect stay, they have literally thought of everything, and there is lots space, indoors and out, to relax. Due to it's beautiful countryside location there are no close by facilities, however, the Anglers Arms is about a 30 minute walk away and it's a decent place to stop off for a drink or a sandwich whilst exploring the local area. That said Ulverston is a 20 minute drive away and there are plenty of shops, restaurants, pubs etc and taxis are available locally. Haverthwaite railway is close by, 5 minutes drive, and gives you access to Lakeside aquarium or an onward boat trip to Bowness or Ambleside. Bowness, 30 minute drive, and Ambleside, 40 minute drive, are a must visit and there are plenty places to explore and eat and drink in both. A little further north is Grasmere and Rydal which offers some stunning walks for all abilities. Anyway enough of my ramblings. Oak Cottage is a stunning place to stay in beautiful surroundings and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing stay and to explore the South lakes. Enjoy.

  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What a wonderful place and wonderful people.

  When my partner first shown me this place I nearly ruled it out due to having young children 1 and 4, I thought the out door space may have been an issue. I am so glad we decided to book as it was not an issue at all, was amazing and our children loved it, such a sense of space, playing freely on the grass, meeting the farm animals and even feeding the lambs which our daughter absolutely loved. They gave us lots of ideas for days out we could do in the area with the children which was great and we enjoyed some great family days. And when their day was done and fast asleep, we could spend our time relaxing in the hot-tub admiring the views and cozying up on the couch with a glass of wine and amazing cheese board from a shop they recommended in cartmel (so delicious). I would definitely recommend staying here the properties are immaculate, the people are lovely and the balance of time with the children and for ourselves was perfect. We will definitely be returning.

  Lovely stay and we would like to return.

  The accommodation was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Kath was extremely helpful in the lead-up to our stay and the videos she sent were very helpful. The location was ideal once we found our bearings as it is quite tucked away in a lovely spot. Neddy Cut is slightly overlooked by two similar buildings but all are well separated so it still feels quite private. Slight damp smell at times but this was not a big issue, just an observation (possibly linked to warped wooden boards in the corner of living room, where we presumed the boiler to be). Very warm but this is a good thing when weather not so great. The boiler/ ventilation systems can be a little noisy at times for reasons we couldn’t quite figure out (in terms of when they came on). I was also pleased to note that during our stay no work was done on the adjacent building which is under construction. Would highly recommend.
